  1. Thinking of buying a Laser Engraver

Trotec has recently changed their supplier of tubes, they now use a ceramic tube with no metal parts, this is ment to reduce the amount of air leakage into the tube over time, and stop the slow offgassing of hydrogen from the aluminum over time. but in regards to price, yes a 45 watt tube...
  2. Thinking of buying a Laser Engraver

I've never understood why Universal chose to use that as a selling feature, our 8 year old Trotec is on it's 2nd tube, so it's not something that should need to be changed very often. It's like Ford saying you can swap the entire engine and transmission in the new Focus in 30 minutes, doesn't...
  3. Thinking of buying a Laser Engraver

We also have 2 Trotec speedy 300's, very rock solid machines, one is 8 years old, the other is 2. In regards to lowballers, you get them in every market, I've noticed it mostly in the industrial markets (lamicoid tags) but generally with that market, price is second to turnaround time. if an...
  4. New Church Logo

I find the tagline very depressing, it sounds more fitting for a funeral parlour.
  5. vehicle wraps... is it better to

Justin Pate has a 5 minute rule, if it takes more than 5 minutes to remove, it's probably quicker to work around it so it gets left on.
  6. EstiMate 2 Issue

we use estimate 2 here, how long ago was your last backup? estimate backs up to a .zip file and only needs that one file to restore from. If you have that you're golden. it's annoying that estimate doesn't have a schuduled backup option where you can set it to backup at the end of each day...
  7. Burgers for Boobies! LOL

The pink ribbon is probably one of the most recognized symbols around, when something becomes as mainstream and recognized as it has, you don't need to spell it out as well Does Mcdonalds say hamburgers in their logo, does Nike say shoes?

  10. Another sign shop somehow has my web site linked to his name

  11. Another sign shop somehow has my web site linked to his name

When I google your business name, I get a bunch of industry websites with your address and phone number, your actual website isn't listed until half way down page 2 for me. this is on google.ca, about 50 miles from your shop
  12. Decal printing

My point was more to show that a gerber edge is a great machine for short order decals, the timeline he has to work with is pretty much impossible for anyone short of a screenprinter or offset press. not to mention that I lost a day because my shipment had to clear customs.
  13. Decal printing

are the images spot colours, or will you need to print in 4 colour process? if there are less than 3 spot colours, you may want to look into a gerber edge system, it's perfect for small decals. We did an order for 7000 2" x 6" 2 colour decals on our edge for a customer once that had to be...
  14. Decal printing

so they want you to match the price of the crappy decals that they are not happy with, and provide a nice decal? Kinda like going to a lexus dealer and telling them if they can match the price of the kia dealer, they got a deal!
  15. Erratic windows in Corel

I just tried to replicate what you were experiencing on my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit machine with corel x6, no issues
  16. Happy Canada Day!!!

    lol,
  17. Floor Graphics Laminate

I'm just thinking out loud here, but could you not print on standard vinyl and laminate with any non slip laminate, but also cut a piece of cast laminate that covers the edges of the print and overhangs by say 0.25", so it can conform to the grout lines and kind of seal the graphic down? am I...
