  1. Font Help

A quick guess would be American Uncial that someone squished the hell out of. Love....Jill
  2. Can't remember this one

    Brisk, Brody, Brophy? Love....Jill
  3. Lincoln themed layout

I think Old Abe might have been a really interesting person to know. You are correct in going off his death mask, as all the photos of that time period were actually in reverse. Or the ambrotypes and tintypes anyway. Love....Jill PS I just realized you had to can the original (what a shame) Man...
  4. Before & After on myself.

I do like the first layout better. I did the second layout about 3 years ago, and he already has it on some other stuff. (work shirts and ads) I did try something else but he LOVES hammers. :) This is from a time when I was just learning Corel so I agree with everything that's been said (except...
  5. Have At It...

Try to avoid using all one font, especially a casual or a display font. On your second revision, you are using two casual fonts which is the same as using two different scripts in the same layout. My go-to font on something like this, when someone wants 6 pounds of sh!t in a five pound bag, is...
  6. Best commercial ever.

I like that. this is my fave commercial right now. Love....Jill
  7. Before & After on myself.

I wouldn't mix a photo hammer with this layout. Like I said, I sorta liked the old one better. I do like the colors in the new one. The fonts are LHF classic caps (if memory serves) & chesham sans. I think the T on the True Value makes this look off-centered, or maybe the angle of the pic.
  8. Before & After on myself.

This is one of those layouts where the customer is also a dear friend, who happens to love hammers. His store is housed in a grand old bank building which has hammers hand-painted onto the hardwood floors. I did his old truck back in 2005. It's still AVERY after all these years, in...
  9. Doodler-in-chief:

    That's kinda neat. Love....Jill
  10. Sign maker, graphic designer, & muralist

Welcome from PA, from a fellow sign painter. I have a teeny tiny eenie weenie niche market in these parts. Love....Jill
  11. Breakdown of members niche in the sign industry...

What exactly do YOU do? I love to hand letter. I paint signs whenever possible. I do cut vynull on signs, banners, and vehicles. (I outsource prints) I do a fair amount of logo design and bizcards. I sub out designs to fellow signfolks. Are you self-employed, an employee...
  12. Random thoughts for a kinder, gentler S101

*blushing* Nice to know I can still do that @49.
  13. Random thoughts for a kinder, gentler S101

No....but I would like to help Fred. Just bumped that thread up in fact. Going to go peruse a bit before tucking myself in.

  15. Random thoughts for a kinder, gentler S101

It's in the Premium section. Lots of good fap material. Hell if I knew all of these newbs were so cute I wouldn't be such a c*nt.
  16. Random thoughts for a kinder, gentler S101

...it's a thread of hot guy pix in the premium section for the enjoyment of us busy signgals. I can see we need to add a few more. But even if someone is cute, and they use Brush Script or have bad kerning, etc., I'm still going to point it out.
  17. Potential or Trainwreck?

Or you could make a tee shirt with two "points" in it like a cold person was wearing it.
  18. Random thoughts for a kinder, gentler S101

Hmmm. I may have to renew the "SignGals" thread after looking at ucmj22 and dfleming.
  19. Keurig anyone?

I don't have one, nor would I want one. I like plain old coffee, not the flavored stuff. :) Love....jill
  20. Potential or Trainwreck?

It's not bad but it's confusing. I'd try moving the tree/cabin graphic to the left, losing the banner, and putting TEES & DESIGN underneath Pine Point. (I think I'd even consider adding T-Shirt Designs instead) Tees makes me think of golf tees? I don't like how the tree interferes with the...
