  1. Attaching Foamboard

I buy them from a picture framing wholesaler but any framing shop should have them. I also use a poly tab. Half of it has DF foam tape and the top has a punch out to hang over a nail. I use these on smaller sintra panels.
  2. Attaching Foamboard

There are small metal hangers that actually have two angled points to shove right into the back of the foamboard. The work great and are very simple.
  3. Graphtec CS5000-60 No Media Error

Load your media and than hit Roll 1 rear set. That will register to the front of the media. if your screen says Roll 1 - Front set, hit the down arrow to switch to Rear set or it will dump all of your roll at your feet. Yea, it seem backwards. At least that's what my FC7000 says.
  4. So it has come to my attention that....

I'm a 30+ year screen shop and print ZERO garments. A decision made a long time ago with my now deceased parter and a decision never regretted. I do pass jobs to a local garment printer all the time. Great shop, quality work, I'll stick to my flatstock printing. You tell him Jill!
  5. increasing pixels??

Going back to Jen's comment on the watercolor filter. It will indeed do magic on some low resolution photos at times. It's a good tool to remember.
  6. printing problem on seiko 64s colourpainter

I have an HP9000s which is probably the same. It's a clear strip about the upper track where the printhead bearing rides. YOu wouldn't know it was there unless you were looking for it. I was having some strange print issues which didn't make sense. I think is was some sort of banding...
  7. where do my jpegs and png's go

You do have "Send windows friendly attachments" checked at the bottom of the attachment screen right?
  8. Need a sign screen printed

Or mask and brush it in. It would be a quarter of the cost than having one pc screen printed.
  9. where do i buy roll media for my ENCAD NOVAJET PRO 600e?

Advantag Sigh Supply or Lexjet. Pretty much any stock made for aqueous inkjets should work fine. Just don't look at anything marketed for Solvent, Lt. solvent, UV or Latex printers.
  10. Anyone have any Avery Light Briar Brown Metallic?

    I have a partial roll of 15".
  11. uv screenprinting

I use the 9700 series for all of my decal work but it does need catalyst for good adhesion. The 5900 enamel drys too slowly for double sided work. I've found the 9800 series for polybanners has excellent adhesion and printing characteristics out of the can. Durability is excellent also.
  12. HP5500 Ink and Printhead Options

When I had my 5000 I used an ultrasonic cleaner to open up clogged printheads. Worked great.
  13. HP 8000 compared to Roland/Mimaki/Mutoh

I own a HP9000s which is the 8000's big brother. Well, faster brother but not necessarily bigger. It's a great unit for sure. If you are shopping used, and you must be if you are looking at an 8000, I think I'd check out the other options simply because HP doesn't sell these rebranded printers...
  14. Union/Political Print Shop?

We've been screen printing political signs for over 30 years now. 15 or so years ago the local Democrats would head to a large union shop in Detroit but it's not as bad now, at least for the smaller local campaigns. There is a union offset print shop about 30 miles away that jobs their screen...
  15. uv screenprinting

There is no UV flasher. UV inks are cured, not dried, by a UV reactor. Expect to pay many thousands of dollars for one, even used. You will need all new screens also. You are probably printing with mesh counts around 150 or so. UV inks run counts in the 400's. If you want to get into flatstock...
  16. HP5100 Major Banding issue + Weird White Ripple

If you bought it new less than a month ago you should be talking to your sales guy.
  17. Cling as Vehicle Graphics?

This it the third year that I'm doing parade graphics on static for the car doors. In the past, we've done magnetics but the budget cuts pushed us to a less expensive solution. There's generally a couple dozen loaner cars from a local dealership that we do them for. I don't install them and I...
  18. HP5100 Major Banding issue + Weird White Ripple

It looks like the banding is perpendicular to the printhead strokes. If so, it may be a poor coating on the stock. Have you tested another substrate with the same file?
  19. Double Cutting?

Fred, Do those work on the Mac version also?
  20. Macintosh Sign calculating software.

I did purchase an application called Quick Quote for the Mac. http://www.colebrothers.com/signprice/ It's essentially a customized Excel Spreadsheat. I can't really give it a yea or nay as we are essentially a screen print oriented sign shop and although an estimating program may work for...
