1000 is the fastest the carriage will travel when printing.
When you slow the speed down you PRINT SLLOWWEERR, but you have more precise dot placement. When I run giclee or t-shirts, or other small prints, I turn my head speed @ 600-750.
As far as I know the interval depends on the temp reading off the thermistor on head 1.
In the winter, I run mine on about 16 which will usually pause once during a 4x8 in four pass mode.
In the summer to get the same results I need to turn the interval down to about a 12.
When I run...
That's pretty impressive that a mimaki can run that thick, artbot. I suppose I could do the same with a roland, if I modded it, but they are not setup to print very thick at all. Granted 10mil is the thickness of poster paper which a roland can run, obviously.

I tried to remain as medicated and productive as possible, but...
partially blown? who knows.
I would check the data cables on the heads and make sure they're not grounding out. that's happened to me.
Have one of your heads started ghosting lately on the same channel you have a problem with now?
You have a blown fuse on the head board caused by a bad head or ribbon cable short. This may have damaged the head board and will need to be replaced or repaired.
I use Solaris inks for my Rolands and love it! Print just as good if not better than OEM, but they stink. I vent my machines.
I built a curtain around the substrate similar to Mimaki and vent with fans. I also have some carbon air scrubbers.
Daily budget of at least 200.00 depending on keyword. You'll be spending hundreds for tire kickers and jerks with unrealistic expectations, who don't want to pay for anything.
