  1. SJ-540 runs out of ink on LONG prints

1000 is the fastest the carriage will travel when printing. When you slow the speed down you PRINT SLLOWWEERR, but you have more precise dot placement. When I run giclee or t-shirts, or other small prints, I turn my head speed @ 600-750.
  2. SJ-540 runs out of ink on LONG prints

As far as I know the interval depends on the temp reading off the thermistor on head 1. In the winter, I run mine on about 16 which will usually pause once during a 4x8 in four pass mode. In the summer to get the same results I need to turn the interval down to about a 12. When I run...
  3. Epson SureColor S30670 vs. HP Latex L26500

That's pretty impressive that a mimaki can run that thick, artbot. I suppose I could do the same with a roland, if I modded it, but they are not setup to print very thick at all. Granted 10mil is the thickness of poster paper which a roland can run, obviously. The feed calibration on a...
  4. SJ-540 runs out of ink on LONG prints

Get the large screen dampers not the large bladder dampers, but the standard size with the large screen. On high intensity ink coverage it is better to turn down the head speed a touch. This gives the ink train time to supply the heads. At least this has helped me in the past. I'll go from...
  5. Epson SureColor S30670 vs. HP Latex L26500

You would need a full solvent machine to print on poly. I think latex may do it, but that sounds like a flatbed substrate.
  6. Flatbed questions

Keep us posted on Oce. I'm very interested in the 318, but the speed worries me. I love that it's a true flatbed, but the FB's seem awesome.
  7. SJ-540 runs out of ink on LONG prints

Service mode, periodic cleaning, change degree to light. turn the interval to around 25 to start. go into user menu turn on periodic cleaning. problem solved. change the internal higher or lower to suit your needs.

  11. Sick

agh. Sorry to hear. I was sick for the entire month of April with sinus problems and flu like symptoms. It hit my whole family. The kids were sick for about four days. My wife and I were sick for around four weeks. I tried to remain as medicated and productive as possible, but...

    looks awesome!
  13. Busted

partially blown? who knows. I would check the data cables on the heads and make sure they're not grounding out. that's happened to me. Have one of your heads started ghosting lately on the same channel you have a problem with now?
  14. Busted

You have a blown fuse on the head board caused by a bad head or ribbon cable short. This may have damaged the head board and will need to be replaced or repaired.
  15. SunChemical Inks

I use Solaris inks for my Rolands and love it! Print just as good if not better than OEM, but they stink. I vent my machines. I built a curtain around the substrate similar to Mimaki and vent with fans. I also have some carbon air scrubbers.
