  1. Test Print means what?

definitely some nozzle deflection on the black head. Doesn't look bad enough to cause that kind of grain in the prints though. If you're feeling brave, I'd hook up a syringe with flush and push it though the head, but if you do it wrong, you're causing yourself more headaches.
  2. For all you shops that bring the pooch to work

awesome. my shop corgi freaks out when I change the garbage can. He loves it when I shake a new bag open. Goes wild every time. Whittfield is getting up there in age, so his exuberance has been subdued a touch, but he still gets active at the sound of the new rustling garbage bag.

  5. Best place to buy hem tape?

I used to use oracal tape and found it to break down pretty fast. The adhesive isn't that strong. I now use tuff tape from fellers. It cost a couple dollars more per roll, but it works.
  6. PVC printing with blotchy spots?

Frustrating isn't it. Seems like we cant catch a break. Expensive equipment, nice boards, pre-flight cleaning, still bad prints. doh.
  7. PVC printing with blotchy spots?

    board contamination.
  8. Test Print means what?

In service mode there is a test print called "test fill" or something along those lines. It puts down 8 passes @ 720x720, 100% ink saturation per head. This will allow you to diagnose which head is failing. Isolate and replace. You have a head that is going out. Did you have a head...
  9. Help sought on color setup for Roland SC540V and CorelDraw X5

Monitor Calibration: Pantone HUEY Custom Profiling: eye1 Very good understanding of Versa Works is the most important. A serious amount of trial and error. To knock out perfect spot colors every time regardless of profile. the Roland Color Chart is a must. For corporate clients and color...
  10. Join the 824 Gang!

    awesome!
  11. Sign Application Table

These are pretty awesome tools, but I don't see how they would do circles around a flatbed printer. Using an application table, you still have to print an adhesive substrate, trim it, then spend a time mounting it. Flatbed, put in substrate, print it. I feel that a big squeegee is...

    looking good!
  13. Roland GX-500 cropmark error

Walk us through how you set up the files. I feel like you are changing the artboard size and VW/GX thinks it's ripping a different file.
  14. Striping a 2012 Mustang...Help?

wrapping vinyl and knifeless tape. lay down the knifeless first. Put down your vinyl stripes. Use the knifeless to get the dimensions and clean edges. You can also mask off with painters tape and use a razor, but probably not worth it on a new mustang.

  17. Roland GX-500 cropmark error

That sounds like a problem from VW. I have ran into this. Reboots on everything and a software double checked fix it.
  18. Special Price Mimaki JV3 JV4 Print Head Now!

  19. Refurbing 645ex

I picked up a 645ex today from a friend of mine who is a dyesub printer. He upgraded to a larger printer and put this one in storage. Regretfully they don't know much about printers and didn't flush it before they put it in storage. I plan on flushing it, putting in six new heads/dampers and...
