  1. problem with foil

    Most likely media contamination.
  2. Mutoh Plotter SC1000E

It is not a matter of storage, I doubt one was ever created for XP. Storage of legacy drivers is at www.mutoh.be.
  3. Magenta not printing

Follow the drain lines up to the capping station. You will need the correct size tubing from the syringe to the bottom of the cap. And you will need to clamp off one of the drain lines or use a T or Y connector to attach to both. I dont recall seeing any posted instructions. Most likely...
  4. Help please...

Are you getting a good seal? Have you connected a syringe, and do you get a good vacuum?
  5. Mutoh Plotter SC1000E

I dont believe that there is such a driver. I think this was way before XP.

If you want to pm me your contact info, I can try to help. Are you looking for new, or maybe a refurb?
  7. Magenta not printing

If you are getting some nozzles firing on that bank, then it may not be the head. The sporatic part is usually something as simple as the cap or maintenance station. How old is the printer, and when was the last time dampers and maintenance station were replaced. These are considered...

    Cover. http://www.mutoh.com/kb/entry/137/
  9. Magenta not printing

Could be the head, a fuse. Or more likely a cable or damper. Is there ink in the damper?
  10. Why the limited gamut?

    I think so.
  11. Why the limited gamut?

These look to be what I was describing as 'filters'. So these should only affect the 'job', much like the layout.
  12. New head on Spitfire

If you are missing a complete channel on the new head. Probably a cable/connection issue. Check your connections and directions of the cables.
  13. Why the limited gamut?

Depending on your printer head technology and RIP. Higher resolutions may provide you with better image quality on glossy Photo Paper. We use all small droplets in our printers at high resolution that can give a perception of more 'depth' in the image, for lack of a better term. Typically all...

  15. Why the limited gamut?

There is a whole range of articles on color management here: http://www.mutoh.com/color_management.php On a very basic level, profile creation involves determining how much ink it takes to get a certain density at the resolution, speed and droplet capability of your printer onto a particular...
  16. Why the limited gamut?

Greys by themselves are much easier to deal with with filters. Greys and color are the problem, because a filter will change all colors.
  17. Aftermarket Ink (media one)

The 440s will 'fit' but are not recommended by Mutoh. The printer was just not designed around those. The extra length will make it easier to damage the cartridge holders and components.
  18. Why the limited gamut?

Getting new greys out CMYK depend on the linearization curves, particularly for C and M. Ideally you want the density of these two to be identical. Problems arise when one is lower than the other. The truth is that these may swap positions throughout the curves, giving a magental hue on the...
  19. Why the limited gamut?

If the nozzle is clogged from below, it is doubtful that a cleaning cartridge will work any better than the K cartridge to dissolve the clog from the top. If it mearly deflected, then it could be dried ink on the nozzle plate or damage to the nozzle itself. For clogged nozzles head soaking...

    We will be there.
