  1. Why the limited gamut?

Probably IS the ink. Different inks have different gamuts. Cyan is not necessarily cyan. Cyan in the Epson inkset used by Mutoh, Roland and Mimaki is much more 'blue' than 'cyan'. (looking at a Pantone chart). Virtually all ink sets have different gamuts. Dyes can be much 'brighter' than...
  2. Fuses for Mutoh Valuejet

I believe this is a standard hardware store fuse for the power supply.
  3. Mutoh Falcon II problems/questions

    1. Change heads when the heads fail to perform correctly to get the desired print results. Head should last BILLIONS of droplets. So it depends on how much printing you do. 10-13 heads per year sounds extremely excessive, unless you are literally running 24/7 and not doing proper...

    Are the drain lines clean?
  5. Falcon Jr. Color Shift

Sounds like cross contamination. When the capping pad makes contact with the head. Ink is wicked from fuller cartridges to less full. In the worst case it can drain all your ink carts into the waste. Probably needs new cap or cleaning of the cap/MS.
  6. What are these marks?

Back one of these up to the rollers and take a pic for location and scale. Hard to tell from the pic if it is a roller issue or print issue. Scale will hopefully help.
  7. VJ 1204 troubleshooting

If all or most of your missign nozzles are on one channel, you can bypass that channels with the "Effects" "Superfine" There are two channels of each color A and B. Superfine A will print only channel A Superfine B will print only channel B It is half speed, but can keep you printing in...

  9. Help with my Mutoh Rio!

Actually, it is frames based html. I can view it on Vista and Windows 7. But apparently not everyone can due to settings in the browser or security settings. You should be able to go here: ftp://ftp.mutoh.com/Printer%20Information_Manuals/RJ-900/Manuals/data/ And be able to see the pages one...
  10. Help with my Mutoh Rio!

Mutoh built all the large format Epsons. And this is an Epson head machine. Once you figure it out, it will be easy to fix as well. Dampers go between the ink lines and the head, look something like this: http://www.inks-factory.com/img/p/169-249-large.jpg It has a screen to capture...
  11. Print head going out? Pics Attached

On your alignment pattern, looks like both c and m are out of align. Get into maintenance mode and look at front to backs and slants. Could be alignments, could be a failing head, could just be static.
  12. Help with my Mutoh Rio!

Did you get a warranty with the machine? If so, your dealer should be helping you sort out these issues. Nozzle check issues on dye sub can be a variety of issues. More typically air in the ink or air in the lines. Check all your ink lines for bubbles. Check your dampers, they should be...

And yet we are BLIND to ALMOST the entire electromagnetic spectrum. http://lasp.colorado.edu/cassini/images/Electromagnetic%20Spectrum_noUVIS.jpg In reality we see perceive little with our eyes, and so much more with our science.
  16. Stupid Question...

You could pull off some covers and physically take a look at the raceway and look for damage. If it is at the capping station, then there is some resistance as it caps, which is normal. But you can check for clearance, look for metal shavings/chips/etc to see if something is out of line...
  17. Mutoh RJ-900 Help

There is a thermal overload in the power supply. It has to cool down after it has been tripped.
  18. Stupid Question...

denatured alcohol and a non-shedding clean room cloth. Fold it over the T-fence and wipe gently a few times. If you are having binding in some areas, that will not be the T-fence, but could be bearings and or grit. There is a document for the bearings and raceway here...
  19. Bringing back the NHB

While I agree with this, bob. This is exactly how the religious and political status quo maintain their power. So exposing that ignorance, the 'harm' that is done is to those systems, and those power structures. Ignorance is bliss definition Not knowing something is often more...
  20. Mutoh RJ-900 Help

There is not a lot of ink used during a 'cleaning cycle'. a few milliliters at a time. If you are getting a good seal using a syringe, then the cap is probably good. You should be able to pull pretty healthy volumns of ink with a syringe.
