  1. Media Set Problem on ValueJet 1624???

Yes, leave them engaged. Seems to really depend on the tension that the media has to begin with. But it seems to help across the board for more consistant feed.
  2. Media Set Problem on ValueJet 1624???

Yes, the little locks are for tension. They should both be engaged. Loosen up the screws and push the lock slot into one of the tabs on the tension device.
  3. Mutoh Falcon + RJ-4100

this undefined paper error can occur when the room lights (or sunlight) artificially trigger the sensor.
  4. Why no 1624 manuals on Mutoh site?

The Spectrovue is driven by the RIP when creating profiles and is self contained in the printer for simple process control. Documentation is here: ftp://ftp.mutoh.com/Printer%20Information_Manuals/SpectroVue%20VM-10/
  5. Mutoh VJ-1304, network interface failure

When using a cross over you must disable DHCP:http://www.mutoh.com/kb/entry/8/ The USB port is a hold over from the CAD printers like the RJ-900 (which all used the same design motherboard). The USB port requires a Window driver, and no Windows drivers have been written for the 1304...
  6. Scratching problems

I typically run 35-40 preheat 38-44 platen 50 dry. So you are in the ballpark. Sounds more like the media. Are you getting a smooth print, with no anomolies?
  7. Scratching problems

What are your heat settings? Dry should be high, but pre and platen should be lower. You may be overdrying the ink before it gets a chance to hit the media and embed.
  8. Ink control using Wasatch Rip Question

Sounds more like a media issue than profile. But you can reduce your Ink Limit in the Color Transforms Configuration.

Uni and Bi directional alignments. It will have these for all the available head heights.
  14. Mutoh Spitfire double image occurs!!!!

Front to back alignments are off. Probably slants and timing adjustments as well. Needs mechanical and electrical adjustments.
  15. Network setup missing in menu on GS6000

I think ProWraps is on the right track. Check the top menu structure for some thing like "Options". Or just look through them until you see a set of menus with check boxes that turn the options on in the "Set Up" menu. Check IP, etc. Mutoh's have the ability to remove options from the...
  16. Why no 1624 manuals on Mutoh site?

No more like something I missed. Just placed them. ftp://ftp.mutoh.com/Printer%20Information_Manuals/VJ-1624/Manuals/
  17. Strange Random Print Head Malfunction Falcon Outdoor 62

I would go with the encoder first. Could be signs of a cable issue or a failing head.
  18. I've got it!

    For a forum.... http://www.isay.com/
  19. Solvent Printing onto white newsprint?

I have seen it done with full solvent. The paper fibers wick quite a bit, and the paper is thin so density and resolution wasnt all that great. It took a custom profile and served the needs of a small grocery chain.
  20. yeah, what if?

End of a cycle is different from end of time. Telling time is all about cycles. Not fortelling the future.
