  1. Hey 1618 & 1624 users! HELP!!

It is the Epson 5540 print head. Apparently Epson does not use the dx designations themselves. So there are no dx designation for the head from Epson. It has a larger droplet capability and more droplet sets, which allows it to run faster (lower resolutions). Printer improvements also...
  2. Still sitting on a Falcon Outdoor

Have you actually looked at the heater? Made sure that it is fully attached? Checked the thermocouple?
  3. mutoh 1304 resolution question

Actually no, not completely. What Mutoh does is promote Print Modes, as described in the literature and specs. These are what Mutoh find to be acceptable print modes for various applications. This is what RIP companies typically write to. There are lower resolutions available through...
  4. E071 - mutho RJ8000

The disc does not need to be in a particular position for printing, it is just a circular encoder. The printer will count marks from current position. You can examine the encoder and see it it appears damaged.
  5. E071 - mutho RJ8000

    Could be the main board.
  6. Question on speed of a prismjet

You can set up your User settings to match your RIP. Menu - Setup/Media Type/PrintMode. This is an OEM printer, but I do believe that it prints 720 bi d in Graphics 2 mode, but not in Banner 4 mode. As it take the same amount of ink in 720 mode as in 1440 mode to get the same density...
  7. VJ1614 Cyan Inkline

Most likely an air leak, could be an overtightened or damaged oring. Could also be the nipple on the head (not at likely). The cartridges are much higher than the subtanks, so it won't go there. It can go back to the subtanks or just leak out into the cap and into the waste tank. Can you see...
  8. VJ1204 CR2 current error 074

Have you looked at the encoder under magnification in the area where your errors are occuring? If there is damage to some of the marks, it could be loosing it's place. Makes more sense at high speed. This is the same time that the pf motor indexes to feed the media. So it could still be a...
  9. VJ1204 CR2 current error 074

The CR2 error code is a catch all for a variety of errors. So knowing exactly what the error is, is important. Is a Mutoh trained tech working on this? I am not familiar with with one that includes a loud knock, but it will be important to carefully watch the machine as it errors to see at...
  10. DAzed & Confused

When was the spit pad last replaced? You probably need to look and see what is happening. And see if it is spray on the platen or bouncing off the spit pad.
  11. Cannot open port error MUTOH VJ

Have you set up the IP address on the printer and in the RIP?
  12. E 119 on falcon ii outdoor

Typically bad head or cable issue.
  13. Mutoh Center Support for 100" Printer

My bad. I believe that is the same unit that has been used on the PJ's (NX series printers). I vaguely remember seeing one, but it seems it was just a passive roller cradle.
  14. Mutoh Center Support for 100" Printer

Seems to me it is just a a set of rollers that cradles the roll. Your dealer should be able to get you information.
  15. Mutoh Falcon, Missing Head

Even we dont have schematics for boards.
  16. DAzed & Confused

The most critical item is that the head seals against the cap. Some overspray is normal. Maybe a pic?
  17. Mutoh Falcon, Missing Head

You can get new MBs from your Mutoh dealer or GEI Calgraph.
  18. DAzed & Confused

There should be a reset Home Position
  19. Which driver?

You can find additional profiles here: ftp://ftp.mutoh.com/DiamondShield/ ftp://ftp.mutoh.com/Printer%20Information_Manuals/Falcon%20Outdoor/
  20. Bought a mutoh designjet 62, need help please

That sound like a RIP driver issue, or a resolution issue. You should be using a Falcon Outdoor driver, which is different from a Falcon II.
