  9. Illustrator and blur? Why does it take so long to save?

    The "Blur" effect in Illustrator is essentially a Photoshop filter, Illustrator is a vector based program relying upon a raster based (PS) filter to achieve a result. It has to rasterize the portion of the image which is being blurred, this takes memory and time to achieve.
