I actually don't own Photoshop strangely enough. I have Illy on my mac, just for testing my logos and designs on that system, but I mainly use Corel software on my PC. Anybody know how to do this on Corel? I know things like this can be done in Corel, but I have never done it.

I don't see why you can't archive the look you are going for and also have it pass the squint test. If you know it is hard to read, why wouldn't you want to fix that? It wouldn't be hard to do at all. Just mess around with your color values.
