Is the bulk ink in tanks, or the original cartridges? If in tanks, you may need to lower them a bit. Also, they do not have the exact same properties as original inks, and probably need new profiles.

Did the level in the cleaning carts decrease, or were they empty? I you're lucky, it may be that the cap seals or pump is bad, if not, you may need a new head.

The cartridges have a ridiculously short expiry date for one reason only. To allow Mimaki to sell lots of ink, even to us who have printers that do not run all the time. Quick, easy and free fix: Remove and replace the battery, date will now say 2005, and "near end" etc will still work. I...

In the meantime... How are you keeping your heads from clogging? Unless it's filled with cleanin fluid, I suggest you start soaking the heads... How about your bulk ink? Do the chips let you know when ink is low? If not, you may consider older firmware which will let you run without chips...

Update- I got Flexisign esupport finally! Quick download and 8.6.2 SP1 is up and working. I like it. Now let's hope this fixes these cool stripes.

Hi and welcome to the forum... First, check the manual. Your heads may be clogged, you need to soak 'em and run strong cleanings untill you (maybe) get them back. Your dampers may be bad. For directions, search this forum, many threads here will describe how, no need to waste time writing...

It's not a fine art printer, go for dual CMYK. Solvent White is crap. For fine art, buy a waterbase Epson or similar used for a few hundred $'s. If you need to print large format white, buy a Summa DC4.

I have not heard a single positive feedback from anyone running white in their solvent printer.

Have you tried to raise your heads? That and cooler temp worked for us, but as you're already at 30 or so, that should be ok... Maybe a better refresh rate?

Welcome! Get a 60" printer, and at least a 48" cutter... Then you can also do fairly big banners. And of course a laminator same width as the printer. Almost everything you print will have to be laminated.

JV3 is (as you know) firewire. I think you need a dedicated PC, and just use remote desktop to run it. Call it "Print server".:thumb: If there is another way to run it via a print server, I'd like to know!
