  1. JV3-160s No color in prints

What shows in the test prints?
  2. Expired JV3 Inks???

See what I mean? Even an authorized Mimaki dealer has no problems selling expired ink. This goes to prove that the only reason for the VERY conservative date marking on the cartridges; is to sell more ink. Lots of posters have been concerned about expired inks clogging heads. Do anyone...
  3. JV3-130 heads

Bad test prints, with many lines missing, that you can't get fixed I guess.
  4. Ran Out Of Magenta

If you want the capping station to hold cleaning fluid, turn off the printer, then turn it on untill you hear the pumps start clicking, then turn it off using the switch in the back... The pumps are now active, sealed, and the caps will not leak out the cleaning fluid. Or use the head wash...
  5. MIMAKI INK and RE-Introduction!

To check if the cartridge is empty, you need to weigh it. Less than 400 grams is empty on a 400cc cartridge. The chip telling amount left still works after battery reset, but if you have screwed with using syringe to suck ink etc, the chip will not know how much ink you have consumed...
  6. Expired JV3 Inks???

Hi, Stick It On- Are you saying that this procedure also works on the JV33??? Some guys have stated it does not, nice to know if it's a good procedure for the JV33 also! Thanks!
  7. How to: Use expired ink cartridges in JV3

Just steal one of your wife's panty hoses , pour the ink down, collect in a bucket, syringe it back into the cartridge, and buy a chip- new color is "Almostblack" :clapping:
  8. jv3 130 spII - how many keep the cover down while printing?

Ours had some paper in the switch when we got it from the dealer... The cover is a nice bookshelf :-)
  9. ss2 expiry dates

Or just do the battery trick and don't worry 'bout it no mo:-)
  10. Nozzle Clogged

Sounds like silicone... (fisheye in auto paint lingo) If that's the case it's nothing to do with the printer, but contaminated media. Have you tried a different media?
  11. Help!!!!

You're only getting half the black ink you should, I assume you are running dual CMYK? If so, half the black print head is plugged, if you had a 6-color printer, there would have been black and a different color in this head. Have you tried to soak the heads with cleaning solution? May be...
  12. Service Manual For Mimaki jv3-75SPII

They have the service (or maintenance, don't remember) manual for the JV3160. Same thing.
  13. capping station question?

If you unplug (from the wall) the printer, just when the pumping starts, you are simulating the pumps to not leak out the fluid... When the pumps are turning "forward", they are sealed. when pumping is done, the pumps turn "backwards" for a bit, which releases the squeeze on the silicone...
  14. Service Manual For Mimaki jv3-75SPII

Download one from the Yahoo Mimaki-forum. http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/MimakiJV3Printers/ You need to join, it's free. Good luck!
  15. are there directions on installing own print head?

See how easy it was? :Big Laugh Cheers!
  16. Printer Problem

    Congrats!
  17. Trying to decide between Summa or Versacamm

Cost / sq foot on the Summa is High. We have an old Durachrome (DC1) CMYK printing: 4x as expensive as spot color, due to full coverage on all four foils. Many folks just print CMY to bring the cost down. Foil roll is 4" wide, 100 meters or so long, so easy to figure the cost. (10 sq m or...
  18. Summa pinch roller sources?

I don't think it matters that they're hard, ours are also 10 years old, on a T-140, still works fine. Flat-spots is another story- how about boiling one in water and see if it regains its shape? Can't hurt, and if it does not, you still have to buy a new one...
  19. are there directions on installing own print head?

And as y'all have probably noticed; the original poster have not bothered to neither clarify his question, nor saying thanks to the ones who put in a bit more effort than I did in my answer (though I am sure mine was totally correct), which reminds me of a similar story: A man is flying in a...
  20. Printer Problem

Sucking works fine, as long as you use a long hose that you can see when the ink comes... With a short hose and not being able to see... It does not taste like :beer I feel I have better control with sucking by mouth than syringe.
