No I am still getting banner orders, just saying problem 8 out of 10 orders maybe 7 out of 10. I'd like to make that 9 out of 10 if possible.
I don't feel I am the cheapest and I certainly don't produce a cheap quality product.
It's just a hard thing to figure out. I always believed that...
I've had bad luck with manufacturers, I've been using Gemini and Direct Sign Wholesale for my LED signs. I don't do any neon at all.
Gemini is decent, but the last two products I ordered they went from about 115 lumen LEDs down to 60 lumen and the brightness on back-lit halo is terrible,
and...
I was curious to know what price everyone is charging for banners and the size of their town. I charge per square foot and am in a medium size town.
I understand that Washington D.C. and A backwoods town in a remote area is going to have way different pricing.
The other shops around me is $7 /...
So the main reason for this topic is that about 5 years ago I was on here and several other sign forums praising Oracal products because I fell in love with them and was basically kicked out the door. Everyone was against me and it was like a crazy Anti-Oracal all hail 3M crowd, mainly due to...
The problem with Grimco is they have a $500 minimum and Fellers is $100 for free shipping. Fellers tends to be a little high, but my local sales rep gets me about 10% off most vinyls, check your area for one.
I avoid NGlantz, I use them for LEDs, but they only delivery once a week with their own...
I've been lucky to not have found any splices yet, but good to know they are out there so I can watch for them.
I often buy 10 yard rolls as well for cut vinyl, I am guessing you use Fellers also?
I use Oraguard 210 and 290, both are good, I learned never to put 290 lam on the Avery Translucent...
For those of you who use 3M, what is the reason you use that brand? I am curious. Is it because it's popular? Is it good vinyl? the high price equals a better product?
I've used Oracal, 3M, Avery, LG, Arlon, etc.
Oracal has never failed me, no roll problems, no adhesive problems, no ink...
American Made Signs is seeking to hire for two positions. A sign technician who is primary in the shop fabricating and manufacturing signs and assists customers and installers as needed. Also hiring for a sign installer of LED/Florescent signs, pole signs, wooden signs between posts, wall signs...
CorelDraw is in every way better than Flexi. Many users just don't know how to use it. So they bash the program.
I admit X7 is a little hard to use and I don't like the layout, but X4 is the way to go, no problems ever.
If you use Corel Draw, add a color to your palette and make it a spot color. Choose any color you want, generally I use Pink because it's a color I never use in a job.
Name the color "CutContour" exactly like that.
Then on your object, right click to make the outline CutContour, import into...
It's an online auction, sometimes I look at them, these two caught my eye. However the plotter is a piece of junk, but curious about the big white thing.
I am having a hard time identifying that big white thing that someone says is a printer. Any ideas?
I think I solved the other one, I believe it's a Redsail Chinese Plotter, what do you think?
I just purchased a bucket truck for my sign company, it's a 2000 GMC with a 30' boom.
Question is, how much do I charge for it? One of my goals is to change light bulbs in shopping centers, but also of course use it to install signs.
I've tried to research pricing and haven't found anything...
Don't use 45 degree blades on print/laminate vinyls. Use a 60 degree blade at 130 - 150 (depending on mil thickness), that will trim through the vinyl and laminate with ease and not damage your cutting strip.
I forgot to mention that it'd be closer to heavy poster paper, not like corrugated cardboard or anything. Perhaps even a deep score? But I am afraid it will break the blade or jam up the motor on the plotter. I looked into custom dies but they are expensive.
Of course it isn't 100% American Made, it can't be. My Roland is Made in Taiwan. But I am careful with choosing products from where they are from. My shop towels are Made in USA, Vinyl is a local company in USA, Knives and Tools Made in USA.
But it's not about that, it's about doing it in-house...
My company stands for no outsourcing. Like you can get 100 18" X 24" Coroplast signs from China for $1.00 each. Seems like an amazing mark up and value right? However your supporting China and hurting the economy even more by putting sign shops out of business. You can get a 3' X 6' printed...
