  1. Rant Ugh New 570, New Problems!

Is this happening when media is attached to TUR? If so run a test without TUR and see what happens. Either way something is definitely out of whack. Misalignment on infeed/outfeed, nip pressure or a combination. Would love to be a fly on the wall to see how the techs attack the issue.
  2. Rant Ugh New 570, New Problems!

Over what length is the 1+ inch skew?
  3. Best printer

Sorry for the confusion, I subbed out all my prints to a shop with a Matan Sprinter, never owned one. That was along time ago, and I can't remember the company name. With that being said my clients were always pleased with the quality.
  4. Easiest print/cut with Summa

Not yet, and I really need to get on it. Lots of small jobs took up all my time, and I got to work outside on a couple of them.
  5. Easiest print/cut with Summa

Yes! Life got a whole lot easier with the addition of the Summa. No more cringing or wondering how many more copies I have to make to get enough to fill an order. No more wasting time cutting a job into manageable pieces either. Wife approves of the Summa. She's Belgian too.
  6. Rant Ugh New 570, New Problems!

Check O.D. of the cardboard core being used on TUR. Check level of TUR components, dancer bar etc... Check level of infeed components. There is another measurement called tramming to make sure everything in the web path is in alignment. Both level and tram need to be looked at. My guess is HP...
  7. Need Help Need help please Seal 65 El laminator.

First thing that needs to be done is make sure the leading edge of the material to be laminated is perfectly square to the side of the material. Another thing that I do is put two layers 2" of masking tape on the lead edge. Not only does it make it lay flat it gives me an alignment aid. I get...
  8. HELP PLEASE!!!

Nice clean pen trace and you're good to go. Or send it to the Vector Doctor.
  9. Need Help Banner material question

Nope, just throwing out a suggestion. Another thing is the OP may be over critical as most of use are. Things the client will never see stick out like a sore thumb to us.
  10. black vinyl breaking glass?

Happens with IG(insulated glass) panels. There are calcs used by window tinters to make sure they don't have issues. A high school not far from me went with the low bid tinter after my buddy the pro said what you want to do won't work. Long story short most of the windows that were tinted...
  11. Need Help Banner material question

I print all banners at high speed on my SP540V works a treat. Haven't had any client complaints.
  12. printed metal machine signs

End use will dictate the correct process. High heat? Vandal proof? Salt spray? Abrasive or VOC laden atmosphere?
  13. Longest print, lam, cut file you do or have done?

Longest on our Roland was 13 feet. Wife made sure the vinyl would keep the natural curve as it touched the floor. Could try setting up some coro sheets. One in front, one in back to give the vinyl stability. So far on our new Summa we've done 8 feet. I just make sure it's loaded correctly...
  14. Who makes these?

    Jimmy DiResta
  15. Latex 360 and 365 cannot print neutral grays

If you have Pantone Plus Series charts there will be a Color Checker lighting indicator on the back of the chart. Simple way to check lighting in the shop. Graphics - PANTONE ColorChecker® Lighting Indicator
  16. During a power outage

Get a generator? I've only had my Roland unplugged for about 24 hours. Not sure you can go much more than that without it doing its cleaning cycle.
  17. Roland SG-540 vs Epson S40600

I have a Roland SP540V which is a print cut. I also recently took delivery of a Summa D140R. I no longer have to break graphics into bite size pieces. Should have bought the Summa years ago. Pretty sure I wouldn't have gray hair or less of it. Of course it depends on where you make your...
  18. Third Party Ecosol Max inks, Cuantek Review?

Things are great when you're lining their pockets, just don't call with an issue. Guaranteed it will always be your fault. I wish I had the disposable income to send these "just like OEM" inks to a lab. That would put an end to all the BS.
