If cleaning the encoder strip doesn't work it may be the encoder sensor. No worries though as it costs about 35 bucks and takes a couple minutes to install. If cleaning the encoder strip helps but it doesn't completely clear the issue you can flip the encoder strip over. And while you have it...

Alternating panels flips every other panel 180 degrees. You'll want to click on Place Alternated. If there is a color shift it won't be as noticeable. Place Alternated check box is in the lower left of the middle pane in the tiling menu.

You can set tiles manually if you want, but I let VW take care of it. Right click on the panels you want to print or turn off. Make sure you select Alternate Panels too to mask any color variations from panel to panel.

My SP540V has developed an intermittent annoyance. It chirps for ink when the cart is still half full. Will even do it with new carts. Last one was a few minutes ago with slot 2(cyan). Been doing a ton of printing so when it chirped I got a cart ready only to find the cyan was at least half...

If you can hook up through a USB port I'd recommend that. Had the Summa cutting shortly after we got it on the stand.
