  1. Window Lettering / Window Decal Questions

i don't know why you're installing on the inside. we always install on the exterior of the window (unless there is some vaild reason not to.) anyway, you can get a small roll of white cut vinyl to laminate the printed vinyl, and I don't think you need to use cast if its going on the inside.
  2. Corel Gurus

Did you try the Contour tool? I think its Ctrl+F9
  3. Vinyl peeling from ACM

i've never used that vinyl before, but i just looked it up... We never ever put intermediate vinyl outside for anything other than a VERY short term / temporary sign. I know the manufacturer says you can, but its going to shrink, and the more ink on it, the more likely its going to fail fast...

  5. entitled to compensation or not

I wouldn't pay the entire balance due. And I understand what you are saying.... You sent them the file set up, ready to print & finish. Your vendor decided to add a bleed. Whenever we have pole banners made, we get a proof that shows exactly how the finished product is supposed to look. OR I...

www.murdochengineering.com are sign engineers. they know what to do.
  7. Sidewalk sign project

We have always found that A frame signs don't blow over, but they do slam shut which causes them to fall. SO we always install a wooden brace (2x4 screwed into bottom of frame). I recommend you doing the same.
  8. Screen Print Transfers Good company to buy from??

we always order from Ace Transfer Co. I think they are good, but I don't have anything to compare it to.
  9. 20’ truck wrap pricing question

I think you are a low, you need to add in the time to cut/weed/tape and prep the vehicle. Plus you need to consider any consumables, and then I like to add another 20% because I would prefer to make a profit and there always problems. Also, I think 3x material price for the vinyl is much more...
  10. Help with my wedding invitations, please!

can you post a PDF of the design, so we can alter it?
  11. Help with my wedding invitations, please!

Put the date on the same line as the times, and then write "reception to follow" below the times. Or just leave that out, because its clear there will be reception because you are listing the activities on the invite.
  12. Help with my wedding invitations, please!

Can you put the date info on one line, then you can write the description below in a coordinating font/style. Also, I'm confused by the two different times listed. What time is the ceremony taking place? And congratulations :)
  13. First time for this type of job... any advice?

We would use cast vinyl/lam and also wrap it around the polymetal panel. Wrapping the edges looks so nice.

am i missing something? aren't you going to have to tile the graphics anyway, why not just laminate as usual.
  15. Does Graphtec have a cut length limit?

You need to change the maximum length on a print dialog screen. Do you cut directly from your graphics program or do you use a program to plot?
  16. Need Help Pricing

You say you priced it per SQUARE INCH. So you calculated it based on 18,432 sq inches (total area double sided)? Did you make a mistake in your math, because that equals less than a penny per square inch. We don't do anything per square inch, its sq ft, and I don't really care that its double...
  17. Need Help Pricing

what? is there a substrate? is it cut vinyl or printed / laminated material? how did you come up with your price?
  18. Crazy Tool.....Ever see it...or would you use it?

masking tape works just as well. perhaps if the graphic was very, very large it would be helpful, but this is normally a one person install for us, and we don't need any fancy tools to do it.

  20. advice on software for this Newbie

We do too, we plot on our Graphtec FC8000 directly from Corel. But i'm not sure how we set it up, d'oh! AND we used to be able to plot from two different computers, but at some point that got screwed up. (the computer that runs the printer broke, and then we were never able to get it set up...
