@wrapswrapswraps
that pick is maybe two years old. it's kind of my classic avatar photo. i'm 43 but but "look" closer to 30. this is me this year with my gf.
@encadtech.
not sure if that's entirely accurate about the "ink in the head" issue. the ink can easily be flushed out of any head, silver, white, black, etc. it is more true that those more heavily pigmented colors can plaque up your lines with insoluble sediment structures.
never ever take a day off.
yesterday was my birthday (43rd!). worked only 8 hours for a change. today knocking out the pierced areas of the aluminum sections and trimming the almond color (petg mounted panels). each section is 14' so it's all clumsy big stuff today.
one note as far as printer paranoia. two main things when working on the printer. don't drip ink onto the heads or down the data ribbons. this will lead to zapping the electronics. so work cleanly and precisely and turn off all the power to the machine, etc.
two... don't twist the dampers...
also, both chairs in my office are destroyed from clawing, and what's the last thing a guy wants to see when he's deep in the netherworld of advanced photoshopping? a cat head poking out from behind the monitor. those are some creepy animals. damn.
thanks @M@CK i'll check that too.
@mikepro, the other day i noticed cat foot prints all over my machine (almond latex). my beautiful girlfriend was reverse painting some PETG (which prints really well with triangle inks) and the cat must have walked across the parts then onto the printer...
thanks for the quick replies. i took a look at the wiper assembly. quite clean. i clean the wiper manually every night, just doesn't seem good to have a wiper with dried ink on it doing any cleaning.
the error has only happened once today. hopefully it's not a sign of the wiper motor...
i've had for months a "change wiper" warning on my screen. i had changed it, but didn't go through the maintenance screen during the change. so the printer was oblivious to the change. so, yesterday i hear a "beeeeeep" (never a good sound).
the screen reads
( WIPER...
had this happen to an entire ink set recently. evidently it's not uncommon. although i'd never heard of the phenomena. the printer isn't "pumping" the ink out. there is a siphon effect that is draining your carts. mine was because a changed the protocol for a head soak. the head soak...
well they have genuine readily available chemicals in them.
refillable cartridge + permanent chip (if JV33 cleaning carts are chipped???) + $6US worth of butyl cellosolve, butyl carbitol, and acetone = CLEANING CARTRIDGE
i usually catch crap for bringing this up. but there is a increasing amount of people that are just making their own cleaning fluid. comes to about $25 a gallon.
this printer and fire wire can be very touchy. there's a lot of firewire discussions on the yahoo jv3 board. a whole lot of stuff there.
i'm assuming you did the standard and extensively troublesome firewire install. there are two phases to installing the firewire driver. you have to do...
i'd make the tree all encompassing from left to right. and just drop the peach. there's no way to get a peach and a tree in that logo without it looking forced. don't italicize... no bevel, no shadow, etc.
post some pics of the test draw. if you say "half" of the pattern is bad.... that can be a bad head adapter. i've had one go out that left a pronounced halo pattern of missing ink in the middle. a missing top or a missing bottom that in intermittent can be your cap is sitting strange and...
get a track saw with a triple chip blade designed for plastics. it's better than a panel saw in that the material is held much tighter to the blade, the accuracy is "0" allowance. after you have a track saw at the shop and you are cutting everything from .030 petg to four sheets of plywood at...
i'm aware of the circulation system. i just can't imagine a print head and head adapter exposed to those more troublesome inks 24/7 not being problematic. maybe the new inks are much better?
can't you just fill a refillable cart' with cleaning solution when not printing white or silver, and chip the cart with a silver or white chip ? that's what i do (with custom permanent white chips). not sure how the roland is set up.
singapore. a tax haven that was voted one of the least corrupt nations. good place to set up a mega high end printing business to sell to asian billionaires over the next two decades.
india would be my second choice about ten years later.
