Question:
When you view your file in VW, does the cutline appear as part of the graphic?
If so you have a transparency that is in conflict with the spot color "CutContour".
The "CutContour" color can be any spot color as long as it is named "CutContour"
I can tell you the problem right here, eps does not support transparency when saved for output, the best solution is to "clip" the image in Photoshop and save it with a clipping path, then you can place it into Illy
Is the eps actually just a jpg or tiff embeded in an eps format?
That would explain the box?
I can take a look at it for you if youd like, you can PM me for my email if you do
Your gonna need to collect for output in order for someone to do that, otherwise you lose the fonts images and whatever else has been placed/imported...
You cant, however... you can set a custom workspace and have your pallettes located where you like them with a mouse click,
/Window/Workspace/Save Workspace or Manage Workspace.
Works everytime as long as you save the changes in the original Ai document.
You dont need to "link" the object, as a Smart Object it creates the link all on its own being you know "Smart" and all..
Listen, if youre using CS3, you can paste the vector into PS as a smart object, you have obviously saved the Vector artwork, you can edit the vector artwork in Illustrator save your changes and it will automatically update the smart object in PS.
