  1. A Quick Request

Fred All I see are tiny little black and white Confederate flag icons at the top of the light blue boxes. IE & Firefox wayne k guam usa
  2. Please help! wrap print distorted (puckered?) prior to laminating

If all else fails you can apply the lam wet over the graphic. Just have to keep the water from wicking under the edges and causing the backer to stick to the adhesive side. Not really recommended but it works, had to do this on a regular basis before our laminator showed up. wayne k guam usa
  3. Double thick alumalite??

Pat are those metric or imperial maters......? wayne k guam usa
  4. Do I require a new K head?

Good to hear Colin, did you change it out on your own or have them do it? I just went through this here my Mutoh head was $1800.00 The part not covered by maintenance - I called to have them set up an appointment to do the install for me. After 6 days without a callback from the service...
  5. Stick With Roland or Go HP Waterbase?

I think the support level might be a bigger factor over solvent vs latex side of things. I'm looking for a new printer and am about as far from support as someone can get. The HPs sound brilliant when they are running but when something goes wrong it looks like it will take more than a...
  6. My key for 7.6 broke, what to do?

Don't know if you followed this but it could be worth a look: http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?120970-just-got-email&highlight=signlab wayne k guam usa
  7. Ok, I have to share. This was a new one..

I would like to reply to this but it will take me some time to write it down on paper and the post office takes forever to get a letter from the island to the mainland.... wayne k guam usa
  8. Print/cut thick material - how long is too long?

Lots of little ways to attack this. Once in while (ok, more than once in a while) in a rush I'll print out a sheet to be contour cut and then realize it might be too long to risk cutting in one go. Instead of trashing the printed & laminated panel I'll open up the print file and break the...
  9. What would YOU do with the money?

I don't see any ramming here - they are offering it as an option. If you don't like broccoli you don't have to order it. Now how effective their cloud campaign is going is another matter..... wayne k guam usa
  10. What would YOU do with the money?

So is it just me or do the graphics in the cartoon look like they were designed in the Flexi cloud? This was pushed to my facebook feed a few days ago and looking at it I had to wonder what level of consumer this was targeting. Seems like something you would see on the cartoon channel...
  11. How to Cut/Trim material accurately, and quickly. Newbie looking for tips/help.

To add to what the others have said: When you are holding the ruler down and cutting thick material let the blade slide across your knuckles. You will be surprised how much more carful and accurate your cuts become after doing this just once...... wayne k guam usa
  12. China Banner Welder

Interesting but it does not look like it is set up to join two panels very well. All the tension would be right on the edge of the weld pulling it apart. Guess you could flip it over and glue the hanging edge down to help support the weld. I don't see an easy way to get good alignment of the...
  13. Can a city, town etc... bar you from using your trademarked logo or logotype?

It looks like even if you have McDonald's level financial resources you may not win....... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2739701/McDonald-s-forced-open-turquoise-coloured-restaurant-s-not-fast-food-giant-s-unusual-store.html I'm lovin' it??? wayne k guam usa
  14. Ever Put two Banners together?

Should work depending on how large the banner is and how it will be displayed. I wouldn't trust a hem taped seam on a large exterior banner stretched between two poles. Run the seams vertical to keep the weight of panels from pulling apart. Take a look at HH66 vinyl cement if you want...
  15. Weird issues when printing fades and gradients

Not a fix for your problem but couldn't you rasterize the gradients into bitmaps? Get your customer out the door and then go back and trouble shoot what looks like an eps parsing error. wayne k guam usa
  16. Tips for working out head strikes on paper

Turn the heat way down and raise the head height(if that is an option on your printer). wayne k guam usa
  17. End of year savings on Flexi Finishing Tools

So I take it you were not impressed with the money saving option to not print the centers of the grommet marks? We do a lot of repetitive work each month and have templates set up for these. I think if we were doing more one-offs this could save some time. wayne k guam usa
  18. ha ha ha... your kidding right?

Ask them to send it as an .lol or .omg or even a .wtf any random 3 letter combo will get you the same useless result. wayne k guam usa
  19. just got email

Tech are there any nesting options for printing and contour cutting? I'm looking at the promo page but don't see anything listed. My Flexi 8.6 nesting makes me want to stick my head in the laminator with the heat assist set to extra crispy. wayne k guam usa
  20. Why yes.... I did 2

Nice, did you carry the design over into the interior? wayne k guam usa
