Downloading ONYX trial now...taking forever. I did download the Shiraz demo....ew. That looks like a cheesy program, and it seemed to support every model of Roland except ours, so that's out. Will try Caldera as well after the Onyx download.

Thanks for the input. "turn your entire workflow and how you do things at your shop upside down"...that won't be happening....only looking to replace RIP. Will still design, cut, etc with Flexi. Just need a better RIP platform. It won't cause me any problems, as I am pretty much the only one...

Caldera? Onyx? I've used Onyx in the past (the version that came with the HP8000 years ago). Which is best? Been using Flexi as a RIP, which isn't bad, but I need something better that doesn't crash all the time. Which one is easiest in building profiles? Which is most efficient running 2...

I wish I could get more detail in WebAccess for L260 like that.

Try changing the IP address for the printer, and be sure to change the setting to see that new IP address in Versa or whatever RIP you use. I've had the same problem before, some sort of IP conflict.

Cheap air release vinyl and polycarb laminate is what we do.

Well I just ran a Bi-Dir adjustment, and everything was WAY out of whack. Now I'm getting my crisper text again and the cut is closer to being right. Still have to play with the adjustment but it is better. I'm amazed out how off the head alignment can get just from everyday printing. And I just...

Not printing any marks. Just a simple shape cut directly after printing.

Well it was good for a few cuts and now it is right back where I started!!! Also I am noticing the printing is going bad in spots, like the heads misalign for a bit and then go back to normal. Is this a dirty encoder strip causing all this? Or would that have any effect on the cutting issue?

Funny, that is what I am doing, and actually sending the test prints from Flexi directly instead of pushing through Versaworks. I'm beginning to think VW is part of the problem with this. Now I am getting closer to where it should be.

How is that? I just looked at it again....it is 3 circles with some text in it. Nothing complex about this at all. Pretty much ready to cut, except you may want to weld the number outlines to the inner white border. Other than, this is very simple.

So I have run the Print/Cut Adjustment, got it to where the test cut is dead on. However, when I print and cut an actual job, the cut is nearly 1/4" off on the scan (left to right). Anyone know what the problem is? Also, when I ran the adjustment, I had to set the scan number OFF the chart...

We ONLY use the laminator for 48" and 54" Rtape. Easiest thing to run on a laminator.

This file IS a vector already. Not a bitmap.

I.m sure that is all printed. I can hit that color pretty much on L260.
