Another tidbit to fan the flames of debate. HP latex and Roland eco-sol at a school. Guess which one runs semester after semester with almost zero maintenance/issues? Hint, it ain't the HP. When I asked I was told the Roland hadn't had a PM done in over a year and a half.
We run 30-30-30-100 for black. Next step if you haven't tried it is set for either Max Impact or Sign and Display under the Color Management tab in VW.
I use Kapco calendared laminates and never had issues. You could also check into Instant One media. They're merchant members and folks who've used their products seem to be happy with them. Same goes for BigFish.
Lots of options without testing the waters and hacking off clients just to save...
Something to think about if you are handy. Roland, Mimaki and Mutoh you can buy any part you need and service them yourself. Signs 101 has helped me save a ton of money over the years too.
Seems there will never be any aftermarket parts for HP.
If you're used to using "tails"(we don't call...
Find a label printer that has a laser "die cutter" and ask if they'll just cut the roll stock. Probably limited to white though and not sure about intricate weeding. It's also narrow web.
All depends on your target market, demographic and sometimes luck. I had over 6000 followers on Twitter and it didn't generate enough income to justify the time invested. Wife developed a dandy website that works 24/7 with a minimal investment in time. We picked up a marina because of it...
Yup. Absolute evil. Razor would take off the vinyl and barely graze the glue. Then the glue didn't want to come off. 3M adhesive remover, urethane reducer, etc...barely softened it.
Maybe the full year outside with a southwest exposure caused the issue.
Indoors or out I'm not using it anymore.
From their site. Preorder...and we'll get back to you soon. Sure you will. Just like the kickstarter project where the guys partner stole the money and built himself a huge house.
IMO you either have product to sell or ya don't.
Be great to sell signs like that. Gives us some money...
Sounds like the 3M dusted crystal I removed from an outdoor installation. Took a couple hours. Nasty. Had one piece of Oracal on the same job and it was off and cleaned up in 15 minutes. Guess what I'm usin' now?
If you're concerned with tracking get a Summa. From time to time they have refurbs if cost is an issue. Phil from Summa will post here when he has them or special offers.
When cut vinyl was king we'd more often than not load a 50 yard roll then go to dinner. Put on the roll holders, place...

Probably around the same price as the Stanley/Vidmar products.

My carbon fiber "Termi's" had 4mil factory decals and they were fine. One of the decals got a scuff from something in the shop so I took both decals off. Note: the "cans" are real carbon fiber and show no signs of heat stress whatsoever.
