Since the debate rages on with latex vs. solvent I have some serious questions.
I've actually looked at the HP site and checked all the different latex printers.
I currently run a 4 color Roland. How can ink costs be cheaper with latex when there are three more carts to buy? Lc, Lm, and...
For me to even consider a latex, HP would have to have a second media path. One where I can use the "tails" from other jobs. IIRC you need about a 42" long piece minimum for an HP.
IMO HP's are set up for the shop that does nothing but run full rolls. That's not where I make my money.
Would...
Two things. Notice they never showed a close up?
Seems there is enough problems posted here trying to get good prints off a flatbed in a controlled environment. And this is gonna work outdoors? Really?!
Second thing is how do you remove whatever colorant they're using? Better be in love...
On the last couple I removed the wiper assembly, put one of these in http://www.garvinindustries.com/panel-accessories/knockout-seals/3-piece-oil-tight
and install the perf. Nice and neat and no callbacks because they "forgot" and used the wiper everyday since you installed the graphic.
Tell her to have an attorney look at it. The little bit it will cost to have a lawyer draft a letter will be well worth it.
Can't use the word cupcake...? Betty Crocker is in trouble.
I should have been a tad more specific. I was talking in terms of after the factory warranty expires. I understand I can get extended warranties from all the manufacturers. Just don't feel like spending $2500 or more per year for plan.
Of course I'm the same way with extended warranties on...
True story about fleet work. Guy rolls up to the truck shop where a good friend works. Said he wants his 40' beer trailer trailer wrapped and needs a bid. He sees the bid and freaks out at the price. Not the installation part of the bid. He can't believe the price for the wrap itself.
He...
As far as there being more HP techs here is something to think about. With a Roland printer there is a robust aftermarket parts supply. Add to that Signs 101 members that are handy and have fixed all kinds of things and have been kind enough to post solutions.
Signs 101 "techs" are available...
Not sure if this will help. With our SP we just leave it plugged in/turned on and walk away after were done. It will periodically wake up and run a cleaning cycle.
IIRC we use a high speed banner mode. Don't even think about using anything other than high speed. Why? Your dot gain will be much greater with paper than with any vinyl or banner. Standard or high quality will use too much ink.
One thing I would suggest is loading your material/file then...
Starting at $17K which means 63" web. They are also behind on printheads. Latest rigs run dual DX-7's. For that kind of coin you can get a proven name brand rig with better support. Plus "tech" support from members here that have run it, broke it and fixed it themselves.
