be prepared though, real estate agents are known to be "frugal"
  2. Foam core on a real estate sign?

foamcore will not last more than 1 rain or snow outside. even 4mm coroplast will warp at that size. step it up to 10mm coro or aluminum
  3. Pitney Bowes

Make sure you have request in writing that you want to cancel your contract, I would email and send it registered mail, I wouldn't trust this company as far as I could throw them!
  4. Pitney Bowes

that's true about the cooling off period, however, by the time you notice (usually the next billing cycle) the 10 days has passed. Also I heard that the 10 days doesn't apply to businesses, it's there to protect people from signing up with companies like Direct Energy and Embridge who go door...
  5. Pitney Bowes

can you imagine how long you would be in business if you used a similar business model? Joe Mechanic comes in to pay for his sign and you charge him a "processing fee" to take his money! you would be out of business in a month!
  6. Pitney Bowes

Fred, I learned my lesson, just hoping to help anyone who may be considering signing up! Especially now that Costco sells rolls of 100 stamps for less than face value!
  7. Pitney Bowes

I was just wondering i anyone else has any experience with this company? We got a postage meter from them a few years ago thinking it would be a big time saver over going to the post office to buy stamps. After we got our first bill we realized there were some charges we weren't told about...
  8. Mimaki USA Ink Cartridge Recycling Program

I think this should be implemented at the dealer level, that way you can save up your carts and deliver them to your nearest roland/mutoh/mamaki dealer. the dealer has regular shipments going back to the head office, the carts can be sent with these. Don't let them fool you, this is not a...
  9. Arthritis anyone???

Why would you want to put off seeing a Dr. as long as possible? Usually you have a better chance of dealing with this type of thing if you consult a Dr. early on.

:goodpost: How exactly did you sneak past those pesky forum rules?
  11. Metal Business Cards

I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree on this, all I know is that in my ~9 years of working with and owning laser engravers I have never personally known anyone in person or online who has been able to cut metal with a standard laser engraver. perhaps if the machine was modified for...
  12. Metal Business Cards

I have a 80 Watt Trotec Speedy 300 at my shop, If you can get it to cut through even 1mm thick aluminum or steel, I will give you the machine. You can set it to full power and 10,000 passes and it will barley leave a mark. The trotec dealer has a speedy 500 machine it's 250 watts, they had a...
  13. Client emails that make you crazy!

Yeah, I've come to the conclusion that some people are what I like to call "Professional Meeting Attendees" these are the people who seem do do absolutely nothing all day except go to meetings and participate in email chains. For some reason, these are the types of people who get to look...
  14. Metal Business Cards

Laser engravers don't have the correct wavelength to cut through metal, even very thin metal, believe me, we've tried! to do this you would have to either cut them on a BIG laser, stamp them out with a die, or chemically etch them, all of which are expensive for small runs. I'm going to have...
  15. Metal Business Cards

there are a few wholesalers in Toronto that can do this type of work, unfortunately, they would have a minimum of 250 pcs of each design.
  16. SELLING ONLINE (like signarama)

Sorry I just can't see how customer designed signs will do anything positive for this industry, what this would do is perpetrate the idea that design has no value and/or there is no skill involved. If you are trying to sell to the local market, i don't think this is they way to do it. take...
  17. SELLING ONLINE (like signarama)

it's been my experience that selling online is strictly a numbers game, in other words you will never be able to charge what you normally would. Think about it, if you are looking to buy anything online (a watch, DVD etc..) you ALWAYS go to a few different sites and find the best price. I...
  18. Name Something You Pass Around

if this was a canadian show, well lets just say it wouldn't be so far down the list :Canada 2::tongue:
  19. Minimum charge on small jobs?

also, the next few times you run "small jobs" time yourself how long it takes from writing up the work order, to writing up the invoice. you will be suprized how long so called "small jobs" take. Adjust your minimum accordingly.
  20. Minimum charge on small jobs?

I usually give them the option of paying a minimum charge ($40), or waiting a bit longer, and i run their job next time I am printing on that material. most people are ok with waiting, a few are in a rush.
