  1. Are the Daige Quickmounts really that bad?

you got it. seriously, great idea here... but it's like Vista. shouldn't have been in production until they actually got it working 100%, you know? you don't spend $3 g's on something that you have to baby like this to make it work. So how exactly are you supposed to get the roller to not slip...
  2. Are the Daige Quickmounts really that bad?

Beginner's luck, that's all I'm going to say. In the middle of a 3 hour FIT trying to understand why the take-up reel drive (rubber band) just slips over it's pulley and screws my job. I'm going over the diy instructional video and nothing's covered there.... you had better have an OVERFLOWING...
  3. Cold Feet!

I'm with DT here. Mutoh, the 48" is plenty wide. There is plenty of media out there for it as well. The quality vs. price is unbeatable and it's a low-maintenance workhorse.
  4. Hello from Dirty Jersey!

Welcome from Jersey (Shovel; Exit 67 FYI).
  5. New to the Biz and Very lost

You want a side biz, buy a pickup, trailer and a couple mowers. This really is something you have to throw heart & soul into to succeed. On the flipside, if you decide to be serious about it (calling it a "side biz" won't get you far here) then buckle in and ask more questions.
  6. Are the Daige Quickmounts really that bad?

YAY!!!! Ran it for the first time. Apart from an odd right-hand-twist sort of pattern showing up after about 4 feet (that didn't transfer to the vinyl, just showed between the rollers). It came out GREAT. For the price, and even not just for the price. The only suggestion I would make to them...

  9. Boatwraps,seal With Edge Tape?

Yeah, I heard that Primer 94 is a bitch. Works, but it's near permanent. Don't need that on a Donzi hull......
  10. Boatwraps,seal With Edge Tape?

Prepping for a hull side app on a 35' donzi. Got advice from Merrit this morning (said they've done plenty of boats and no failures) that said the air egress was alright if you use a sealer. Are you talking about a tape sealer or Primer 94? 94 would be applied prior to the vinyl, is the product...

    Shop interior, February 2008.

Just added the Daige, she still hasn't run anything yet. There's a 4'x10' table in here as well, I'm standing on it to get this shot. Clean? No. Neat? Well..... Efficient use of space? HELL YEAH!
  13. My Work Station

damn that's clean. I have half the space and only one less chair! (PLUS ALL MY CRAP!!) Might as well show ya....
  14. Are the Daige Quickmounts really that bad?

set it up (and I have to tell you, expect a wad of tin foil as a stand and that's the ONLY way you won't be disappointed for $200!!!!) but still haven't run a thing thru it. I just dug up this thread and I'm going to run her for the first time tomorrow. Wish me luck, and I'll post all the info I...
  15. First Decal....

Yeah, gotta have that pop.... looks nice though. Hell, I know a well-established sign shop around here that does GORGEOUS logos, but STILL does ancillary information in fades with non-contrasting outlines. If you're ten feet away you can't read any of it. Whatcha runnin (the one with wheels, not...
  16. 300Z Diamond Plate Nose

    300Z Diamond Plate Nose

Diamond plate pattern printed on clear vinyl with a Gerber Edge. Clearcoated with FrogJuice and applied wet. Old job, AMAZING look when it was finished. The paint was an orange/yellow pearl flip, and having the pearl show thru the print made it look beautiful.

    Kawasaki Semi-Wrap Graphics

Installed over 2 days using Oracal cal vinyl with cal. laminate, printed by Graphic Zone in Philthadelphia (before I got my printer).... PAIN IN THE ARSE with cal. vinyl. Would not recommend this to anyone. PLAN MORE TIME THAN YOU THINK!

  20. Are the Daige Quickmounts really that bad?

ACK!! Another credit card maxxed.... bought the Daige 55 and a roll of cast Avery laminate at 48". Here's to hoping I don't waste more than half that roll learning. With all the advice you guys have offered, I should be on the right track. Praises due, much love Signs101.
