  1. Font ID please

Already tried WTF, no match. Thanks in advance!
  2. Dust is our biggest enemy

This.... roll your substrates before application, and all your prints before laminating. Can't live without it.
  3. Looking at Latex as a new addition to our machine lineup, so I came here w/ questions

HP Latex - 0-10 scale Print quality - 10. Maintenance - 9 Startup and set up - 1 Loading Material - 3 Such a drag to get it started and warmed up. Swapping materials is a pain in the arse. GROUP as much as you can of each material when you print. Switching from banner to vinyl to paper...
  4. More of a rant than a question

Sometimes we like to take at least a little pride in our work. Keeps them coming back. Not in this for the beer.
  5. More of a rant than a question

How do you deal with these customers who feel 'they' have the right ideas for design, and no matter how you push, they want it their crappy way? Just dealt with another one, who has a banner layout that I modified. It was a dark blue, BUSY background with small Black text. I changed it all to...
  6. Install question

You can do a good job with normal pre-mask....just mask the prints leaving 1/4" or so along the edges for alignment.
  7. Test Print Files

Doesn't matter at all what the test image is, as long as the print is done with a profile that matches the media it is printed on, and the operator sets it all up correctly. That awesome image could look like total crap off of a great printer not set up correctly.
  8. Old Dodge truck Font

Found this...maybe it will help a little? http://www.allpar.com/images/logos/dodge_old-logo.jpg
  9. Hand lettering or Vinyl??

At least all the spelling is right.
  10. Canvas printing profiles, consistent prints and general tips

I've had issues printing on canvas. For starters, most canvas material for print is not very white....so colors are going to be off. I've had to seriously tweak the profile I use (Versaworks) and play with the settings to get the look I want out of it. Maybe there is a better, truer white...
  11. Need Advise on following Aqueous Rolls

Yeah I've never heard of running both pigment and dye together. Two different heads and inks systems. Yikes.... However, when I ran an HP 5500, I used that Jexar quite a bit. Good cost effective vinyl, and definitely need to laminate any outdoor signs you make, IMO, with any aqueous setup.
  12. Does my customer have a dirty mind ? ?

I hope water doesn't run down that channel letter when it rains....that'd make an even more interesting shadow.
  13. Iso propyl alcohol & adhesion

I stand by my answer, as I think he was talking about cleaning his substrates.
  14. Oracal Oralite 5600 help!

Same stuff. I've printed on regular 24" and 30" of this (white) and it works fine.
  15. Iso propyl alcohol & adhesion

It certainly does, if the substrate is initially covered in dirt.
  16. Windows 8 and versaworks

Try running in Compatibility Mode, in a previous version (not sure what options are there for Win 8....maybe Vista or XP). Right click the VW icon, select Properties, Compatibility, and go from there.
  17. New website

It seems you have to scroll down too much on each page to view everything. Could be organized and consolidated some more.
  18. Trailer Wrap.... looking for suggestions.

Couple cases of Krylon Red. Done. Seriously, if riveted, 3M 1080 Red vinyl is the stuff. I haven't seen a trailer with screwed on panels in years. All rivets around here. Not an issue with this vinyl.
  19. L260 - Errors when printing

Well I think I fixed it...I changed the IP address on the printer, and then changed it in the RIP. Seems to have worked so far, only ran a couple jobs last night. I have more to print here soon so I'll find out soon enough if that worked.
