It varies quite a bit from vendor to vendor. Maybe try a larger sheet and cut it down? Even a 24x36 cut in half might make a big difference.

We ship quite a bit both UPS and FedEx. Ups has been slightly more reliable by the numbers.
Usps really does well for small packages under a few pounds. Anything larger needs one of the private carriers.

Just throwing it out there, on the Honey for sale signs, I liked the middle option. I am a yard sign guy at the end of it all though, and that one would print up nice and have good readability while driving 40MPH down a county road....
As others have said, there are probably settings to adjust the order of cuts, but in the end, this ties into the traveling salesman problem. There has not been an algorithm yet that can calculate the most effecient path without just testing all the possible outcomes...
