    Rick, you have a very good taste for fonts, I appreciate that. I do like the fonts from Veer, especially some of the newer ones. They cater to some of the most current crop. Fontfont and Fonthaus also produce/carry many of the newer fonts that you see in logo and brochure/magazine design...

    I got a Wacom Intuos 6x8 tablet about a month ago for helping with vectorizing and to avoid wrist pain. I've used a mouse for 18+ years. It took some getting used to. For precise straight line work I still prefer a mouse, but the tablet helps with more organic and curvy shapes or for tracing...
  10. Sometimes "outline" sucks...

    On the Mac you can do a command-I (info) on files and in the Spotlight info box of OSX Tiger - you can type in info here, like a font used. Works great when you want to say look up every time you used a particular font - or as mentioned when the font gets converted to outlines - a reminder...

    Its a German city map from a German customer - Funckepark. Apparently customer wants to use for Google sketchup program and to color houses individually. Thus the vector need.

    30"x30" at 300 dpi. The image is already hi res and relatively good. Not sure of the importance of having a vector.

    Someone sent me a file (see attachment). This is about 1/4 of the image that they wanted to have converted into vector. Well when you see it you'll understand why I turned it down. I could not post the entire image since it was too large. So my question is, what kind of software would be used...

    I have an old Corel book and there is a font called Palette in there AKA Paint Brush (large and small caps) and that does not match. The link that fred posted is the correct Palette font. 2 fonts, same name, different appearance.

    OK, here is a question for all of you. I ID fonts all day long as part of recreating logos/signs (mostly by memory or whatthefont.com). Was anyone offended by my offer? I can ID about 90% of what comes my way, but when you have a photographic memory of fonts sometimes you know you've seen it...
