Train of thought idea that I had and did just to say I did....

    Fencino?
  4. Asphaltum Alternative for Gold Leaf?

I've airbrushed gold leaf and imitation leaf with One Shot before with no troubles. I don't see why thinned glazes would work any differently.
  5. sign setter ada

If you don't find one to borrow you can build one for less than $20. 7' tall oak 1x2 and a 12" rafter square with level screwed together work perfectly. You won't have the adjustability of the real thing but if you need more than one height just build two.
  6. Destroy me as usual..

That one looks better but the effects are killing me. The TK reminds me of jello jigglers for some reason.
  7. Logos, Designs, Signs - a perspective

  10. Give Up Hire a Professional

Nope....but some people should stay on the bench. Babe Ruth probably couldn't use Illustrator for squat.

  15. Help with class assignment: Famous Designers?

Paul Rand practically redefined branding in America. Plus, as a bonus, there's a boatload of info out there about him so research would be easy. Artbot is right though, research your own heroes, not someone elses
  16. How did you get into sign making?

College for graphic fine arts, went to work for an ad agency. Wasn't a good fit for me. Got offered a job at Ad-Arts, a sign company, in their fairly new vinyl sign division running a Gerber 4B. I took it as a temporary job until I could get another job in advertising. 17 years later I was...

    Ouch.
  18. Goldrush Alaska

You know, during the California gold rush the people that really got rich were the merchants set up selling mining equipment and supplies. Watching the show I get the feeling the same thing is going on now.
  19. "Glasses Free" 3D Technology

That looks like a really good way to get messed up permanently.
  20. Goldrush Alaska

Todd is a disaster. If anyone in the group had a set of balls they'd kick his ass, Dorsey is the only one who's stood up to him....then he just ran away and went fishing. His dad is apparently the snake oil salesman who put all of this together. I love the end of the episode where they'd...
