  1. Does anyone know anything about e-checks?

I have a couple of customers who pay electronically. Both have set me up in their systems to make payments directly to my checking account with an e-mail notification. Unless you have set it up in advance you will probably be receiving a printed check in the mail.
  2. New member!

Welcome to a great forum from Cape of Cod.
  3. Thoughts on my logo? Thoughts on the name?

Don't take I to Marth's Vinyard where it will compete with BLACK DOG.
  4. Name and shame!

I had one customer who stopped taking my calls for money, stopped having breakfast at the local stop, avoided me everywhere. So one Friday afternoon I called his wife and asked what was for dinner that night. She asked me why I wanted to know. I told her I was bringing my wife and kids for...
  5. Removing large vinyl from light up sign

When you turn the lights on at night the ghosting becomes more visible. Rapid Remover will take all the glue off. Rapid Clean will take off the built up grime. But the ghosting will remain. One trick you might use is to turn the panel upside down before you put the new vinyl on. This will...
  6. Removing large vinyl from light up sign

If you strip the vinyl off with heat or steam, like when you do a truck door panel, you will always see the "ghost effect". The time it takes to remove the material will usually exceed the cost of new material.
  7. vinyl zapper- orange-ish marks

+1. Had the same problem on a 14' body with lots of lettering. Washed everything off with Rapid Remover and then buffed the overheated vinyl/rubber wheel material off. It's easy to apply to much pressure on the zapper when doing large areas.
  8. Had some fun with my own boat on Friday!

Nice job Bill. Now just be sure you exercise it a lot this summer.
  9. Best adhesive remover

Rapid Remover and then clean with Rapid Cleaner or Rapid Tac. Always works, never a problem with paint or substrate damage.
  10. Plotter Blade

Call Clean Cut. They have them all and they are the best.
  11. Can I get paint off of Acrylic (plexiglass) face?

Brake Fluid. Let it sit a few minutes, wipe up the bubbled paint and wash several times with Rapid Tac. Had a wide black outline around some vinyl. Si Allen recommended that trick and it worked great. Don't get any on a painted surface you want to keep.
  12. How to be a Successful Sign Shop

I'd rather take Jillbeans to lunch ( and some day I will )to thank her for all the nice design work she does for me. That's a much better way to improve my business.
  13. Everyone should open a business they know nothing about:)

Welcome from Cape of Cod. Hard work and a positive outlook will carry you thru.
  14. Logo design before and after.

Great job Jill. Your logo is much more inviting.
  15. Window tint glue removal

+1 for the Rapid Remover. Will take a couple of applications. You can use a plastic razor blade VERY GENTLY,
  16. How do I get the average Joe to understand about high quality artwork?!!!!!

Question, "How can I get them to understand the difference and realise that hours of tidying up or digitising into vectors takes time and costs money!!!?" They will only understand and appreciate what they have to actually PAY for. I often say "garbage in, garbage out". People have come to...

  18. Hi from CT, Stopping By to Introduce Myself

    Welcome from Cape of Cod.
  19. Time for Payroll

IMHO one of the biggest mistakes a small business makes is trying to do everything themselves. Having a payroll company like ADP takes all the payroll and reporting headaches away. The hours it takes to figure and produce the checks, file the necessary reports with the state and federal...
  20. How many people?

I would like to learn more about it as well. The you tube version seems like a good way to get started.
