  1. Need Help Deep contours on wraps

pics to confirm, but most likely used knifeless tape. it comes in 1/8" sizes, so in theory you could run a line of tape and then run a matching line alongside it. for me, i start with the deep grooves, unstretched...just tucked. once you make the turn, you can stretch a bit to get the...
  2. Looking for larger sheets for pole sign

3/16" white polycarbonate. as stated above, its stocked on a roll.... we have an 88" coil here at the shop, about 400ft, and i'm pretty sure it goes bigger than that. any noteable plastic supplier should be able to cut it for you to size, roll&band it, and ship it to you.
  3. Is this REALLY how a sign cabinet should be built?!

that's a fairly well-built, cheap sign. lol looks like someone loves rivots, and realized how cheap it was so they dug up some self-tapping screws around the shop to "beef it up". ...no way I'd put that up with my name & insurance on it tho'. bet the whole retainer flexes in the wind and pops...
  4. I-Beams

if unable to gain access to inspect from backside/top, then play minesweeper with a small/long masonary drillbit into a mortar line. easy to fill/patch clean.
  5. Mounting Adhesive

^pretty sure its Arlon, or whomever produces Arlon's products..... I'm only guessing, as the vinyl smells the same when printing, laminating, or peeling the liner off during application.
  6. Mounting Adhesive

also, if you're looking to take that IJ40&castlam combo to another "economical" level, as we used to do that same pair as well on intermediate-projects, Grimco has an awesome house-brand Briteline DurationX that has replaced our IJ35/40 altogether at ~$150 less/roll. we still rock 3M for all our...
  7. Mounting Adhesive

unfamiliar with the material, but is it like....paper-paper? not like synthetic or woven polyester or PVC, but if its actually paper then that may be your issue. moisture gets in between your adhesive(laminate)-paper-adhesive sandwich and causes separation & eventual curl. if so, i have no...
  8. Mounting Adhesive

calendared vinyl lifting is most likely your issue....uncertain what the mounting adhesive is for, considering 40C is controltac adhesive. huge fan of finishing perimeters of controltac/airegress/etc. vinyls to PVC panels with a heat gun & soft squeegee to properly "wet" the...
  9. Mounting Adhesive

....substrates? what material is lifting? designed for thin-flexible plastics & papers, essentially poster paper, and the only reason anything would lift is because the "substrate" is shrinking or the mounting film wasn't completely applied....or you're trying to use it to adhere 1/8"+ pvc...
  10. Looking for high quality mirror vinyl

best i've seen in vinyl form, that doesn't have the pitting/warping appearance of your "typical" chrome vinyl.... is chrome window tint.
  11. LED retrofit matieral

square tube extrusion can get pricey for this purpose. they don't hold much weight, you can definitely save a buck by just bending up some U-channel out of .063.
  12. You're welcome! - Haribo Sugar Free Gummy Bears

unfortunately :( liquidation sale starts in august for that site, but they still have production & tours at other locations in IL/Cali
  13. PERFORATED VINYL.. WHAT THE HECK..

+1 to all stated above... educating your client what to expect, or designing around this limitation, would be the only solutions. ....and hats off to the capslock tipsters :dog42: :dog42: :dog42:
  14. sans font (unique K and R)

R and K closest i could find was BR Omny, possibly Black or Condensed SemiBold.
  15. Should I laminate or mount first?

laminating first can also eliminate scuffs/scratches in your print prior to & during application ...honestly, i see no benefit to lamination after application unless you're trying to do something quirky like sealing multiple hand-placed graphics under a single clear-layer like...
  16. You're welcome! - Haribo Sugar Free Gummy Bears

sugar-free candy should be an oxymoron ....they sure have nice signs tho! gonna miss having the jelly belly factory around these parts, as we used to buy belly-flops (rejected odd-shaped jellybeans) by the 5gallon bucket.
  17. Tape Mount Acrylic Lettering

+1 pounce-pattern & chalk is ideal. i've also "made it work" with full paper patterns by slicing-off the majority of the pattern & leaving only the bottoms of the letters, but it then takes a keen-eye for "I", "O", etc. letters to be mounted square but i just make sure to have a letter on...
  18. Alternative to Rtape

used rtape for a decade. still love it. but switched to briteline/transferrite products and havent had issue aside from lower invoices
  19. Think of it this way....

i’m not sick, but i wear a mask out in public places ...out of courtesy. just like holding the door for someone, stopping a car for a duck crossing, or letting a woman go first at a point of intersection. its just my thing, and i hope it would be more people’s too. believe what you will...
  20. I think 3M has done something purposely to cause this.

doubt it was intentional. i print on materials not designed for print all the time, and see this effect more often on older media, even printables. could be a batch issue, or conditions such as moisture being trapped between the layers in the roll, or even migrating plasticizers in older stock...
