I'm using Flexi 8.1 & Rip&Print printing a few menu signs with a "lense" in them. Anyways, These signs are in 2 locations at the customer's; one at full size and another reduced to 61.111% for a smaller outside drive-thru sign. For the inside sign we we going to do a few patches & for the...
  2. Blasting mask from hell

You should eb able to call hartco to see if they still make it & then they should be able to point you in the direction of a local distributor that they sell it to. My work is about 1/4 mile from them but we don't use any of their stuff here... I know Proveer sells their stuff in the USA, no...
  3. Roland SP-540V Printing Issue

Again, use the long media clamps (but do NOT sheet cut until you removed them), put an extra roller or two in the middle, and double-triple check your media is fed straight. Then, feed about 6-8" out in front of the machine, we sometimes hang some clamps onto this media to increase...

  8. Surge Protectors?

I would think any type of electrical device would go on a surge protector nowadays as common sense. I see many lightning strikes and surges fry computer motherboards every year, and not just through the power, also through the internet connection lines. be sure your lines are on surge protectors...
  9. what to use??

I like the GMI for colorful wall graphics like fathead style. The phototex just looks too washed out for that use, however it is great for many other uses & I love how it never lifts or curls.
  10. images have been printing bad

sounds like a raster artwork problem I assume (not vector). Possibly the original artwork is low res. Printing low res artwork at a high resolution still generates bad artwork. Does it do the same thing with vector artwork?

  12. looking for roland technician..

Why is your english so bad in Michigan? Not being a jerk, being serious. I know a tech who works this area, but I don't think he does under the table work. But he is good at what he does.
  13. banding on gradient prints

Tell the whole software process you're using if you can. I assume you're creating these gradients in Illustrator, but then how are you saving/exporting, etc from there? I use Illustrator everyday just about with gradients transparency, etc with no issues printing unless flexi gets involved...

  16. Antique Store Font?

no, not always signs; started in 99 website design, quit in 03 for pritn design, quit in 98 for signs. Possibly I have too much technical work interfering with creative work? I do a lot of "plan" type artwork.
  17. Antique Store Font?

Maybe I have to spell everythign out for everybody, I asked the customer about that & they wanted it all "the same imporance", after an answer like that I guess I should have just spent 10 minutes on an ugly sign instead of posting here.
  18. Antique Store Font?
