  1. Antique Store Font?

Deposit? wish we got something like that around here! Mike Stevens? Never heard of him? Buy fonts like tools? Wish I controlled what was purchased around here, it's like pulling teeth to get new knives! I haven't shown the customer anything, just wanted some basic opinions on fonts. Seems like...
  2. Antique Store Font?

What are your thoughts on these? Customer is cheap; friend of owner. With all of the good free fonts at places like dafont, etc, why pay for a premium font in most cases? Do you guys purchase a font to show a customer a proof & just hope that they'll buy it? For 99% of all customers I've...
  3. Antique Store Font?

Those are very nice, will see what I can do...
  4. Antique Store Font?

Because this is a small sign (24x30"), so an expensive font will eat up our profits. They also are not wanting to spend that much on a sign.
  5. Antique Store Font?

A new antique store is opening up & needs a decent sign. Any ideas on a good font to use (free is the best, but we have a lot of commercial ones already)? Currently I'm going with Dauphin until something better comes along. What are your suggestions?
  6. speed trails?

probably start out with duplicating the layer, cutting out the "moving" object, duplicating it again on top, then blurring the lower layer & removing unnecessary parts in front of the object.
  7. 4' x 10' Banner

Customer installed, just came in & asked for that specific sized banner, said they'd take care of the rest. I noticed that too.
  8. cannot parse file

sometimes this happens when your canvas size is out of range for illustrator, possibly scale it all down in flexi (its vector so it dont matter) then export another EPS.
  9. speed trails?

duplicate layer, add motion blur at "correct" angle, erase unnecessary parts of blurred layer. that's the easy way, never seen it look nice though.
  10. 4' x 10' Banner

thank you Jill, they just changed all of their marketing material to use that font & wanted it used on the banner, or I would have went a different route for most of it. I do like the info sidebarred to the left versus above though.
  11. 4' x 10' Banner

For a donated banner, it's just right.
  12. 4' x 10' Banner

Let me know your thoughts on this; seems you guys have a good deal of information I can learn from. Wish I had posted some of these while they were still in-progress, but if your business is like mine then that's impossible due to turnaround times...
  13. Storage Facilities Sign

This is what was requested by the customer, he only wanted an email, so that he does not have to deal with phone calls from idiots. Emails he can check once a day or so & delete the junk & reply with a phone number to the ones that may be lead to an actual customer.
  14. Storage Facilities Sign

Thank you all for the comments, I will certainly take this all into consideration for future projects. Customer asked for this verviage & wanted it stylized, also asked for it to appeal to boatowners (hence the lake), customer also loves it. I can certainly understand the comments... :design:
  15. New Pizza Parlor

yes, and it actually lights up pretty bright with new bulbs in it.
  16. Storage Facilities Sign

    yes, he is...
  17. New Pizza Parlor

Space-Themed Pizza Place, customer loved it, seemed too busy to me; but he's the one paying for it. Sign installed, but existing sign cabinet needs some work still. Laminated Oracal on 3/8" polycarbonate (overkill). GOOD thin-crust pizza if you're ever in the Cincinnati, OH area.
  18. Storage Facilities Sign

Let me know your thoughts on this sign. Printed on oracal, applied to polymetal, sprayed with automotive clearcoat.
  19. Contour Cutting Magnet with Roland

we have printed directly onto the magnetic material before, then hand cut (but most mangets we do are rectangular), using plenty of slack on the roll so the drive motor doesn't get overworked, but most of the time I print it on regular vinyl then adhere it to the magnetic material.
  20. 16Pt Paper For SP540

just looked up specs on postermax & it looks like it's 8.5 mil, so only half as thick as you need; never seen stuff that thick on a roll around here.
