you SHOULD use mechanical fasteners too -- the only way I can think on a double sided ACM sign is - make sure your placement of track is PERFECT on both sides, and use machine screws and bolts through both tracks...not even metal rivets will work
I usually hog out all but 1/8" of 1/2" acrylic leaving a lip 1/8" deep
the other way is to cut an oversize backer and use acrylic cement to adhere the fully cut letters to
+1 actually - I would probably do a full frame with 1.5" aluminum angle, vertical ones placed every 4' for seams
lag bolt some top and bottom rails to the wall, hoist the whole sign as one up to the rails, slip it on, and use set screws to fasten it to the rails
