    I have been using it for years. Keep in mind newer cars have less metal. Thinner door skins and a lot more plastic parts...might be part of the problem.

    I have used matt cut vinyl on gloss painted cars, looks pretty cool. That is what I would try.

    +3M with the clear plastic liner. 1/2" isn't that small, on the 3M it will weed like a dream.

    Lettered a truck for a good customer, white Ford ranger behind his shop....turns out he was delayed getting it there, but, there was a white ford ranger back there....I had one door lettered when the lady came out. Embarrassing! WRONG TRUCK!!!! \
