  1. Just venting...

You're an idiot. No one has belittled the client for not being a designer. They have belittled the client because she is the personification of every single "terrible" client that we all have had. She has no idea what she wants. She can't articulate in any reasonable fashion what she wants...

  3. How about that TIM TEBOW?

    That. Was. Awesome.
  4. How about that TIM TEBOW?

Tebow's run yardage, for the most part, comes from the read-option. He gets big chunks when pass plays break down, but so does every other decently athletic QB in the league, including Aaron Rodgers. Blowing contain/overpursuit is simply a reality when things are happening slower. The...
  5. What do you need in designs??

I think he's saying that he's considering a Merchant Membership in order to sell his design services. He's trying to gauge if this is a sound financial decision.
  6. New business card layout...Thoughts?

With the gray outline, the orange tends to fade out - that's why i put it on the "and", as that's the unimportant word in the phrase...
  7. New business card layout...Thoughts?

OK - made a few changes and sized it up for better viewing. Thoughts now?
  8. New business card layout...Thoughts?

    GREAT idea!!!
  9. New business card layout...Thoughts?

Won't that make it feel flat though? I'm trying to go for the implied feel that the bubble is popping off the page.
  10. New business card layout...Thoughts?

OK - after much consideration I have decided to follow Gino's (and that of several others) advice and NOT make a change to our logo at this point. I am, however, making some changes to the feel of our marketing materials. Here's the new BC that I've come up with. Looking for feedback...
  11. How about that TIM TEBOW?

OK...Not to be THAT guy, but...This is blather. Someone has been watching too much football on TV...And trying to use terminology that they don't understand. Because I love the game, and more so because I love to poke holes in stupidity, I'm gonna explain WHY this is blather... 1. If a WR is in...
  12. Corel Vs. Adobe....

    Agreed!
  13. here are some business card fronts for you to unleash your wrath on

Also, as Gino mentioned, the name alone is kind of silly IMO. Think of who you are marketing to. I don't know your target demographic, but just assuming that it is other business owners for the most part, how many are going to take that name seriously?
  14. Corel Vs. Adobe....

And there you have it folks - Joe just made my decision an easy one :) Actually, I'm gonna DL the 30 day trial and see how I like it. Then we'll see what happens :)
  15. Woo Hoo! Economy is recovering!

I'm 100% thrilled that things are going well for so many... But here in Central Ohio, it's deader than dead. Last month we were in the red, and so far this month we are about 40% behind the pace of where we were last year for December, and about 25% off of where we were last year.
  16. here are some business card fronts for you to unleash your wrath on

RESIST the urge to use grungy typefaces. Unless of course, your target market is the rave crowd from 2000-2004. Also, stay away from Bleeding Cowboys. It was cool for about 10 minutes, 3 years ago.....
  17. Corel Vs. Adobe....

Probably 80% of what I do is created from scratch, or else I am having to trace and recreate poor client provided work. I use PS for photo retouching and editing.
  18. Corel Vs. Adobe....

I love when my threads get hijacked. Awesome.
  19. Corel Vs. Adobe....

For me, what is driving this, is cost. I don't want to sacrifice my workflow at all, however Adobe's new pricing structure is flat-out ludicrous. And with X5 checking in at about 30% of the cost of CS5.5, I'm seriously considering the move....I'll still have CS3 on my machines for opening files...
  20. Gotta love the people at zoning...

Our little town is an interesting study in permits. You have two entities - the City and the County. About 5 years ago, the City got rid of their enforcement arm for permitting. The just handed it off to the county. The County doesn't give a rat's a$$ about signs, unless they are just so...
