  1. SC 60600 fine print

Whenever I have issues with bar codes I choose a high resolution profile, turn the motor speed to the lowest setting, and always orient the print so the lines of the bar code are always parallel with the print head path. This should clear it up if there are no other issues with the print head...
  2. Difference between mimaki CJV 30-60 and mimaki CJV 150-75

As far as the ink goes, I never recommend using White or Silver ink in a solvent machine. Too much hassle for not enough return. It also slows the printer down by about half even when you aren't using those colors. I would go with the CMYKx2 setup. It's the fastest setup and it allows you to...
  3. Need Help Epson

    Q. They never cross their Zeros.
  4. Need Help Roland VP-540i Print head problem or?

That sounds like a failing damper. Any time ink falls out of the head like that it's a sign that the damper is not able to hold ink properly anymore. Also, when it prints fine for a few centimeters and then drops out again, that is another sign of a failing damper. I would start there.
  5. Question 20/20 Ink Clogged Head, Switch Out Now or Wait?

I work on these machines in the field and whenever I hear someone is using 20/20 inks I tell them I won't work on the machine until they switch to another brand. Nothing worse than changing a head for someone and then they blame you instead of the ink when the head fails 6 months later. 20/20...
  6. Difference between mimaki CJV 30-60 and mimaki CJV 150-75

That's a great price for the CJV150 if in good condition. Make sure to get a nozzle check and print a file or two before buying. A new head might have missing nozzles but they should be easily recoverable by doing a cleaning cycle.
  7. Need Help Roland VP-540i Print head problem or?

The reason we know the cap top is not OEM is because the tube is clear. All OEM cap tops have black tubing.
  8. Moving UV printer on a budget

I would definitely flush. If you don't best case scenario you waste some ink. Worst case scenario the ink pressure gets messed up during shipping and has a massive leak causing damage to electrical boards etc. It's like when automatic car drivers only shift the car into park instead of using...
  9. Difference between mimaki CJV 30-60 and mimaki CJV 150-75

The CJV30 series used a DX5 print head that had a max speed of about 150 - 200 sqft per hour. The CJV150 series has a DX7 print head and prints a max speed of about 600 sqft per hour. The CJV150 is the newer version of the CJV30 so it has some other upgrades such as a color screen etc. But the...
  10. DX4 printhead replacement

I work on Mimaki and Mutoh printers almost 90% of the time and they both use strong. Old habits!
  11. production manager not recognizing contour cut

That window shouldn't pop up until you hit send. I have never seen it do that. See the picture below just in case there is a miscommunication. You click the blade and set the cutter before sending the job.
  12. production manager not recognizing contour cut

Look up in the top left of the screen and you will see 5 tabs. The one all the way to the right that looks like a blade is where you do the cut settings. It will let you choose the cutter in that window.
  13. Need Help CJV150 have to set Print & Cut origin adjust every job

Hopefully the tech can get it going. That's the easiest way to go. You might think about applying the Teflon strips that come with the printer to the platen. This will help the material slide across the platen better and may help with accuracy. Keep in mind that different materials will need a...
  14. Need Help Roland VP-540i Print head problem or?

I can tell the magenta cap top is not an OEM one which is probably what is causing your issue with the ink on the floor. I would swap it for an OEM ASAP. Non-Oem cap tops tend to use cheap absorbent materials which swell up and touch the bottom of the head. This creates a wicking effect that...
  15. clear vinyl and overlam

Simply put, you can print on lam but you wouldn't want to use the vinyl as a lam.
  16. sp300 black bleed over

Did this just start happening out of the blue? It looks like it's laying down too much ink. Does the vinyl start to crack and raise up after sitting for a while? It's hard to say but it could be a bad/incompatible profile, bad material, bad ink batch and/or improper heat settings.
  17. DX4 printhead replacement

Normally I just do 1 or 2 strong cleanings to refill the machine. The post above this one has some good info though. I normally only fill with a syringe if I am only refilling 1 or 2 channels but just run strong cleanings when I need to fill all. Pump up will also fill the print heads but it can...
  18. Multi page PDF creation

I'm not familiar with Signlab but if it allows you to create multiple pages in a single file, then you should be able to just print through the standard windows driver and choose, "Print as PDF" instead of a printer. This will create a multi page PDF. If the software doesn't allow you to do...
  19. DX4 printhead replacement

I normally tell people to skip that part. Don't empty the machine at all. The people who engineered the machine wrote the manual before anyone ever worked on them in the field so they went over board. When I take the dampers off the head I usually pat the bottom with a paper towel to absorb the...
  20. Nesting prints with Flexi Production Manager

Yeah I wish they would add the feature to the RIP layout screen instead of having to do it in designer. If those red squares are able to be sent as single jobs and then nested it should work the way you want it. If they can't be sent separately, you're out of luck.
