  1. Best way to put Mutoh to sleep overnight

Part of that is because virtually all printer manufacturers view their product as ink vending machines. I know this because I used to play on that side of the fence. I choose not to participate.
  2. designing new business cards

It's unclear which is worse, the name you affect or the designs you present. The name is terrible. It reeks of teeny-bopper cuteness and presents no aura of business acumen. It the name of something that appeared in the night and will be gone in a few weeks or months. Worse that you...
  3. designing new business cards

Except that the script you used is locked in a death struggle with the LHF Antique Shop as well as the inadvisability of using that same specimen typeface for body text. Typography still isn't your long suit, eh?
  4. new to the business,NEED HELP

The only thing worse than title case is YELLING ALL THE TIME. You're not putting notations on a blueprint, you're attempting to communicate. English is a poor enough vehicle without diddling the format into an incredibly hard to read exhibition of title case.
  5. Best way to put Mutoh to sleep overnight

Sleeping? Nonsense, I turn my printer off when I'm not using it. I've been doing so for years. I keep it clean and I have few if any problems and none of the the vast litany of complaints that constantly appear in these waters.
  6. Help deleting the box

Flexi probably interpreted the imported image as being masked into a rectangle. If so, unmask the rectangle and then delete the black rectangle that will be on top of your image. If the image is a bit map you'll probably have to make the background transparent in Flexi. Flexi doesn't deal...
  7. Do we need FlexiSign Pro for handling Printing and Cutting?

Yes for the printer, not so much for the plotter. Notwithstanding that there might weoll be some obscure el cheapo technique to bypass an actual real live RIP.
  8. Estimate Software

If I were paid poorly I would have been otherwise employed and thus not qualified to have an opinion.
  9. Estimate Software

The point is understanding the world in which you have chosen to live and a consistent model, not whether or not you can create software. The ability to create it merely allows the ability to criticize how it does whatever it does. It has nothing whatsoever to do with what the software does or...
  10. Estimate Software

Estimate, at least the copy I had some years ago, was poorly designed and implemented. Poorly designed because it masks its basic ineptitude with needless complexity of calculation. I know this because I know that any pricing model that does not consider media unrolled as media used and that...
  11. Why can't flexi handle transparencies in gradients?

That would be the previously mentioned gradient transparency ala Corel. No, you can't. It doesn't matter why you can't, you simply can't.
  12. Why can't flexi handle transparencies in gradients?

What makes you think it can't? Create an object. Fill it with a gradient. Do Effects->Lens->Transparent ...and there you are. Or did you mean a gradient transparency in the manner of Corel's interactive transparency? If so then no, you can't. As to why you can't, who knows.
  13. Graphtec 24" CE3000-60 Cutter/Plotter does it do countour cutting

Any plotter can do contour cutting. The question is whether any particular plotter has some sort of optical registration sensing tackle or do you have to do it manually.
  14. FC7000 cuts skewed

Really? Do a little fundamental arithmetic. The OP is using a Graphtec FC7000 thus he either has the .09" or the .15" blade. The maximum offset possible can only be half of those numbers, either .045" or .075" max. The actual offset is typcally less than those numbers. Therefore if the offset is...
  15. FC7000 cuts skewed

Offset is the thing most pounced on as a cause of trouble but it's the least likely thing to cause any sort of problem. If it does, the visual evidence is definitive; overshooting or undercutting square corners by a slight amount. That's slight. For the most part offset, once set, doesn't wear...
  16. FC7000 Cutting coarsely on one side

Cutting roughly in which direction, X or Y?
  17. FC7000 Cutting coarsely on one side

It sounds as if the blade isn't rotating properly. When was the last time you lubricated the bearings in the blade holder?
  18. Is there anyway to cut a jpg in flexi?

There are ways. What, exactly, are you trying to do?
  19. VE LXi Question

Fonts are added to your font folder, not to your software. Add the fonts to your machine's font folder in the normal way then run LXi, which is just Flexi with another name, and the fonts will, as if by magic, appear. This is assuming that you're running a version of the software that was...
  20. Plotter suggestions?

Whichever you buy, go for at least a 30". While a 24" is adequate, with a 30" things seem to lay out better on the media. When I had a 24" I was always trying, with varying degrees of success, to shoehorn images onto the media. With the 30" I can't recall the last time it was an issue. As far...
