  1. So tired of customers not realizing the value

    I just posted a blog about this - http://signzone.circlevillesigns.com
  2. Check from scammer PART 2

Pat, Your latest idea is the best yet. This is absolutely fantastic. i've been wrapping vans for 3 days straight now, and coming back to this, even with a pile of backed up work on my desk, made the day better :)
  3. Squarespace

I tried it in the past - if you are not pretty well versed in CSS, HTML, PHP, and a few other things, it won't be much help.
  4. OZ Post vs Auger

I haven't even heard of them, but it looks like a sweet set-up. I HATE digging holes.
  5. Wondering how many would be interested...

Jon, I think something like this could be valuable - here is my concern, and it somewhat mirrors that of a few others. I can't afford to get "washed". What do I mean by the term "washed"? I use that term to describe what happens to me when I get "kid in a candy store" syndrome. I can very...
  6. break thru banner for footbal

+1 to Pat's method. That is what we do, and have done dozens of them. I only use three pieces of velcro, about 4" long each, on a 4'x8' banner.
  7. Max Metal or Alumalite???

MaxMetal (really any Polymetal) is a greate substrate when rigidity is not a concern. It is relatively rigid in smaller pieces, however you won't want to use 4'x8' sheets without some type of backing or stringers.
  8. Head strikes on Banner - Suggestions?

+1 to changing temp settings. On my VJ1304 I turn the pre and platen OFF when printing to banner, and crank my dryer up to 60. (This was based on advice received here) Also, one thing you way want to do is REALLY give your head a good clean. I had all kinds of little craziness going on there...
  9. Oh man, banner scam again

Wow. I thought everyone knew about this....Ugh is right.
  10. question!!!

Sounds exactly like too much pressure. Also, you don't state whether the print was laminated or not. If it wasn't laminated, then you DEFINITELY need to mask it before application. Could also be a situation where you used too much application fluid.
  11. 10 extra cool points if you help me find this font!!

I don't know if this will help or not, but it looks like a Billy Argel font. You may want to check his stuff out for an ID.
  12. Anybody willing to print a couple of shirts?

The problem with most DTG printers is that they don't print white (some do, but for that kind of money, most people just buy an automated screen press).
  13. Anyone having these issues?

Not curing is a big part of the problem, but here is another one to consider - how long are you allowing the alcohol that you are cleaning with to evaporate before you start applying vinyl? We prep the night before an install, and then hit the entire vehicle with air once more before we start...
  14. Font compiling question...

That would be a viable option - if I hadn't stopped using Corel back at version 7...lol
  15. Font compiling question...

I'm guessing that "corel" means that it isn't going to be compatible with Adobe :)
  16. Golf cart wraps

$10-12/sf depending on the model of cart.
  17. to laminate or not to laminate

For small "temp" signs (and I define small as 3'x6' or smaller), we dont' laminate and never will unless the client specifically requests it. From an application standpoint, invest in a few sizes of big squeegee, and your unlaminated prints become easier to apply than your laminated ones! I can...
  18. Font compiling question...

Does anyone know if there is some type of plug-in for Adobe products that lets you "categorize" your fonts? I'd like to get away from the alphebeitcal listing of the 3000+ fonts on my system, and instead categorize them into different groups. That way i don't have to sift through hundreds of...
  19. Window Perf Failure - Looks to be burning.

You need to find out if all the vans are stored in the same location - indoor? Outdoor? If indoor, is it a temperature controlled building? This looks like it was parked right up against something that was REALLY hot, for extended exposure.
  20. Wrap Install Quote

I think Dave is slightly low - $2/sf or less makes no sense to me as I can make more money than that staying in the shop working on designs and other production. For retail customers, I look at the job - anywhere from $5-7/sf US for install only. If you'd like info on our wholesale pricing to...
