  1. Metallic Vinyl Stickers

as whenever I have a major issue printing on exotic materials, I would print on clear and laminate the print onto the holographic vinyl.
  2. Synhthetic ice for curling / possible to place vinyl on it ?

That stuff is UHMWPE/HDPE. any graphic that has any chance to stick to it in the first place, will change the surface texture from "ice" to eventual shredded plastic & goopy adhesive :) you would need to put it under the top layer, like in real ice rinks.... they don't just slap stickers on...
  3. HP FB550 - Ink peeling at edges on ACM signs after only 1 year...

plenty of posts here from people with same issue its either the substrate not being UV printable, or not primed properly, the ink is expired/old, OR you cut the panels too soon, as ink adhesion gets stronger over the 24hrs after printing. HP FB550 manual can be found online. steps seem pretty...
  4. Fat head requests for high school graduation

FatHeads is a brand name of a product sold online that reps brands like the NFL/Marvel/Disney/DC, like in the commercials. so when people reference "fat heads", I assume people are referring to the low-tack, easy-apply/remove, woven polyester wall graphic media like wallnoodle/phototex/etc.
  5. Curling Issue with laminated vinyl post-plotting

briteline media is awesome. no issues here on my HP26500. we use their durationX with the UVshield overlam for our "cheap stuff" (mdo's, coroplast signs, location tags, etc.) still, calendared is calendared.... no matter the "5yr" lifespan label people try to put on it. it wants to shrink...
  6. Mimaki

mimaki has always been solid, regardless make/model/inkset. best of luck deciding which one you'll need for your endeavors.
  7. Just In Just heard about this..............................

i swing both ways, so I google'd it with both hands. however, there was no evidence presented regarding dextral-bias within the study.
  8. Just In Just heard about this..............................

studies show that being LGBT (Leftys, Gauchedextual, Bidextual and Transdextual) is not genetic, but is actually a preference amongst individuals.
  9. clear glue for push throughs

we don't glue acrylic into sign faces, we push it through. machine your Acrylic like a top-hat, with a ledge around the perimeter that keeps it from falling-out the face of the sign. secure from the backside with hidden fasteners/adhesive.
  10. Anyone else find it interesting.....

seemed like a legit question. you could just answer on behalf of all Canadians and say "no, its not common for Canadians to vacation in Iran"... But I guess you've just confirmed YOUR view of America. To each their-own, i guess. Chin up bud, not everyone can be GREAT.
  11. Anyone else find it interesting.....

fairly certain you don't mistakenly target a plane and launch a missile. my money is on Iran's assumption that no one would have proof it was done by them, and they would lean on public-outcry/conspiracy-theories to blame the United States.
  12. Onyx Cut-server double line?

as stated above, no work around necessary, just set your cut swatch as an object fill....NOT a stroke. (a stroke is two lines offset from object when converted to paths. an object has one line, at its true shape)
  13. Need Help Diamond Grade Reflective cutting

i struggled to cut it on my plotter.... aside from being super dense/thick media, the liner sucks.... the second you score it with a blade, its cut. we UV print on diamond-grade now, but for the project I HAD to make it work for contourcut lettering, I laminated the material onto scrap plastic...
  14. Need Help Golden acrylic

golden, like metallic? chrome? or glitter? or a certain shade of "golden yellow" color? for "custom acrylic colors" in a pinch, I'm a big fan of just goin' with clear, and backspraying or applying available paint/vinyl colors.
  15. Anyone know which manufacturer uses this logo? $20 bucks to the first person

thank god! closure! ....at least on the logo :) i was googling "cardboard tube manufacturers", thinking along the same lines, but with no success.
  16. Anyone else disturbed..

is it too soon, to point out that Soleimani got a better deal than the Dallas Cowboys?
  17. What would you do? (A weird subdivision monument)

what's that thing in the middle? uplighting? agreed, they went overkill with the masonry, I'd have at least made it a bit wider.... panel between the columns seems legit. right option, 1/2" PVC letters & add a border, call it a day.
  18. Need Help How to scale graphics for vans so they print out the correct size

welcome to signs101. rasterlink has a scaling-up feature but YOU have to be the one to tell it how big it needs to be. if you don't know how big it needs to be, grab a tape measure and go measure the vehicle/canvas you wish to apply-to. if you don't have access to the vehicle, then you can buy...
  19. Metal letters onto brick

missing some specs here, or at least photos. what are the letters made of? my first thought is to simply add new studs, as stated above. the pattern is already drilled-into the wall so re-mounting should be a breeze. if holes are filled with old broken studs, then rip them out.... no, you...
