CADTools by HotDoor. thank me later
  2. Looking for "alumacore" type product.

nice signs! i can confirm, they are indeed painted..... as I made them over a decade ago :) we used to have a stock of those panels already painted to save time on tenant-swaps, but those are long-gone. pretty certain its still just Matthews Acrylic Polyurethane Black with a Satin finish...
  3. McMaster-Carr - this one might be a record

huge +1 on Uline for me as well, especially via their web ordering platform, but if you need to call it in they'll literally take your phone call at any time at night.
  4. Need Help Help installing wall graphics

woof. i've been there, and those bubbles on easy-apply fabric materials never want to go away. most of these products "suggest" a 30-day drying period for freshly painted wall surfaces, and most importantly, not to expose to printing temperatures higher than 200degrees. Also, just a thought...
  5. Need Help Magenta line after dark colors print

you've got cyan showing as well, in that yellow "M" logo. chances are, your printhead alignments are off. nozzle/alignment test prints should confirm
  6. Rant Who robs a sign shop?

we've been fortunate to have had zero break-ins in our 70yrs.... however, we've had at least a dozen instances of guys driving-into our yard to try and steal from our scrap pile of steel tube. luckily, the police LOVE using our industrial park for their breaks and every single one of them has...
  7. Vinyl that can be seen through from one side but not the other

one-way vision materials, such as perforated vinyl or black/chrome mirror window tint, requires light in the "front" and darkness behind. works great for exterior office windows, because daylight sunshine reflects/glares the light off the perforated image and the windows are usually tinted-dark...
  8. Constant nozzle firing after head strike

before your replace a printhead, try simply reinstalling your ribbon cable. the media jam/headstrike may have just unseated its proper connection.
  9. Netflix

lol @ the "Lost" reference.... only applicable to those that wasted years of their lives confirming that they were wasting years of their lives awaiting confirmation of exactly what everyone thought was going on the whole time.
  10. Netflix

nobody mentioned House of Cards?!? ....hollywood sex scandals aside, its definitely worth a watch. +1 Stranger Things +1 BreakingBad & Better Call Saul +1 Dexter +1 Madmen
  11. Suggestions Solvent to Latex

Ran solvent for 10years, been on latex now nearly as much.... can't say I'd ever go back but i'd be interested to hear how solvent prints have improved
  12. Isa vs sgia tradeshows. Which should I attend?

ISA is awesome, this will be my 7th year in attendance. Even if SGIA is geared toward being more printing tech.-specific, you wouldn't be disappointed at ISA if you were only there for that aspect. i'd say pick whichever is more logistic for your schedule/travel to allow. they're both great.
  13. Need Help tech help recovering magenta lines

sounds like your damper replacement either cracked the manifold or you've got air inside of the printhead that is vapor-locking the ink supply to it. Squeezing the damper is not a fix, and you will ruin the printhead the longer you keep running it this way. also noted that replacing dampers...
  14. Saving onyx files

the only issue i've had with onyx, is if you somehow change your file structure, i.e. move a file from print folder to a subfolder within it or rename a folder, the onyx file doesn't recognize/update this. understandably so. the onyx file only contains information as to how the original file...
  15. Need Help first squaretube w/ breakaway anchor & sleeve install, tomorrow morning

must be nice, digging post holes in Maui ....i only say that assuming endless fair-weather & scenery, but I'd imagine you frequently get patches of lava-rock. oh, and yes....duct tape to "seal" your post, just wrap it like a hockey stick handle. the weight of the concrete might push on it a...
  16. Question Beginner

if you need a starting-point of tools/templates/etc., checkout theBadWrap as far as "incorporating a logo" into a wrap.... you import/place it into a layer in photoshop. see linda.com tutorials if you can't get to that point.
  17. Need Help Weird lines in the end of print

if they're suggesting lan cable, i may also suggest inspecting the lan card itself in the printer. the connections may be degraded and shorting-out randomly.
  18. Question Beginner

+1 youtube. go down a rabbit hole of "how to design car wrap in photoshop" find some cool vids that get the creative juices flowin', and then duplicate all the steps shown. then, duplicate the steps again but from memory, using your own logo/images. this, however, assumes you have a solid...
  19. Need Help tech help recovering magenta lines

i once thought i ruined my printhead while replacing dampers, but it turned out I had actually broken/cracked the manifold that connects the dampers to the printhead. hopefully that's your case. If the ink system doesn't have a proper seal from ink cartridge>ink...
  20. Family owned, partnership father and son

lol, love the username, btw. Just a thought here: your "side business" lacks overhead, such as equipment/benefits. you're making money, because you've got zero investment, zero liabilities, and not most likely not paying taxes on your income. honestly, you have no room for negotiation here...
