    Cast vinyl and proper prep of the surface would have taken care of the install issues. (and it's apparently heresy to some but I have used plain Windex to clean most surfaces (there are exceptions) for 40 years and its has never been a problem)

    I've done many. Doesn't need to be 18oz, 15oz is fine. I put pole pockets top & bottom. Use white pvc plumbing pipe, top pole extends 18" or so on either side. Bottom pole is smaller and shorter, so it doesn't stick out. 48" is too tall, you don't want to have to hold it up for a whole parade.

    We've done coro a frames that worked well, and the pvc framed ones which were ok But they have a new manager and they want to look at these. From what I can see thay are 3" thick foam which hinges open somehow and has a banner velcoed over it.

    Why not keep lettering? It's a skill not many have and you can cultivate a clientele. I still do some gold leaf transom and fire truck work.

    I would clear the whole thing with 2 part marine varnish and let dry. Then mask & paint. Probably wouldn't need a primer if done this way.
