I've done many. Doesn't need to be 18oz, 15oz is fine. I put pole pockets top & bottom. Use white pvc plumbing pipe, top pole extends 18" or so on either side. Bottom pole is smaller and shorter, so it doesn't stick out. 48" is too tall, you don't want to have to hold it up for a whole parade.

I'd get a price from Charleston or similar wholesaler for an aluminum frame/face sign that is powdercoated.

thanks for the leads, I will post if I find a solution. I could just buy from the original place I found, but so can my client. Or they may just go back to coro triangles when they see the cost

We've done coro a frames that worked well, and the pvc framed ones which were ok But they have a new manager and they want to look at these. From what I can see thay are 3" thick foam which hinges open somehow and has a banner velcoed over it.

I did a project with powdercoated blanks and cast vinyl. Worked fine.

It does sound like the take up clutch. I did the one on mine, it wasn't too tough. I got it off a parts machine a buddy gave me when it died.

I used Dux on my last job seemed fine. I buy my goldleaf & supplies from Art Essentials in NY. They often have some good deals on surface golds

I have several clients that pay with a system that generates a one time cc# for that specific transaction.

When ACM first came out we tried it for some parking lot signs, it didn't hold up well. So we recommend .080, if the client wants to cheap out that's on them. Hell, we have a towing company that gets them on coro

Why not keep lettering? It's a skill not many have and you can cultivate a clientele. I still do some gold leaf transom and fire truck work.

That's way more than oxidized. Minimum sand, prime with rusty metal primer & repaint. Or put the graphics om .040 or ACM and instal

I would clear the whole thing with 2 part marine varnish and let dry. Then mask & paint. Probably wouldn't need a primer if done this way. But if you did need primer the way I handle it is to cut the mask with a slight outline, like a 1/16". After priming you peel this outline and you still have...
