  1. Is there any way to fix leaning retractable roll up banner?

Supplier is GBC Canada. It's a "generic" brand; "Roll Up Banner Deluxe" 33" x 80". 4-Pack $275CDN ($68.75 per stand). Great stand for that price. I sell them at $249 with graphic easily.
  2. How would you do the install...

This is one of the "smaller" ones! This one is 4' x 4'ish. Will be easy to do a vertical hinge and simply hand place the mud drops! Total of around 15 pieces to install! I'll bet you can tell it's for a daycare! :thumb:
  3. How would you do the install...

I'm planning a .5" overlap seam. Horizontal hinge for sure, especially on the WIDE ones!
  4. How would you do the install...

Thanks for the reply's and advice! I already printed one as a 2-piece horizontal split. I'll definitely have 2 people, and maybe even 3 (my wife and her dad are unknowingly my "volunteers" LOL). I may do the rest as 3-piece for ease of the install. The Avery 2611 is quite thick at 6mil. I'm not...
  5. How would you do the install...

Looking for feedback/ideas on this large project I'm working on. Wall Decals, printed on Avery 2611. Some small, very easy to work with, but some quite large ones (like the attached). This one is 120" wide x 100" tall. Two questions... am I better to print in a 2-piece horizontal split or a 3...
  6. Is there any way to fix leaning retractable roll up banner?

1000% Agree! You get what you pay for. Some will lean, some will not... no consistency whatsoever. I stopped using that type and only buy the type in the pic. The cost more, but they are an easy up-sell to my customer. The ones I use are clamp bottom & clamp top... no adhesive involved. They...
  7. Avery 2611

Has anyone had experience with Avery 2611 Wall film? My main concern is contour cutting. I have a large wall graphic job for a daycare. Printing will be easy on my 360, but I'm wondering how well this media will contour cut on my Roland GX640. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! :notworthy:
  8. Roland ECO Solvent vs HP Latex

Went from an older Roland to the L25500. The L25500 lasted 4 years, needed $3000 in parts, so decided to "trade it in" for the L360. Going on year 3 with the L360 and it has been flawless. I think I got a great printer, as I've had ZERO issues with it to date. I won't go into Latex vs...
  9. Any use of "strokes" or outlines should be for print only.

I have to agree with you... it's unbelievable how many times we receive files that should be simple vector files, but some "designer" has way overcomplicated the file by adding unnecessary outlines and strokes to objects AND text. I now charge big time to fix crap like that. :noway:
  10. Hp Latex 360 printer fumes

Been running my 360 for almost 3 years now. Production is in the basement of an office tower... not a tiny space, but not overly large either. I've had no effects from fumes coming off printer. I've had no effects from fumes coming off printer. I've had no effects from fumes coming off printer...
  11. First time for this type of job... any advice?

Think I'll do a test piece like this and see the result. I'll have to give a bit of thought to the corners, but shouldn't be too big an issue!
  12. HP latex 360 waste

Check your rip settings also to ensure there is no lead edge amount there. Even if I have to fix skew after loading, I simply back it up till there's around an inch showing. No excess waste.
  13. First time for this type of job... any advice?

This is the reason they are having me quote on re-doing it all. They want to eliminate the text on the upper panels and have simple images (with a word or two). There is a major traffic thoroughfare that has a direct line of sight to those upper signs. Too many words for moving traffic to read...
  14. First time for this type of job... any advice?

I will be quoting using laminated cast vinyl. I have no intention of having them flatbed printed because THE TOP PANELS WILL HAVE GRAPHIC IMAGES as opposed to text. So... that eliminates the suggestions of cut vinyl on blue media! :Big Laugh
  15. First time for this type of job... any advice?

Hahaha... I'll have to ask them about that. Maybe I can lose a few pounds while I do the install! :ROFLMAO:
  16. First time for this type of job... any advice?

I did neglect to mention... the upper panels will have images on them with main services and the bottom (windows) will be listing all the services. So, they're sort of switching it around! I think I'm better off using a cast vinyl for sure... I'm gonna price it with cast!
  17. First time for this type of job... any advice?

I am quoting a big job this week. Medical clinic wants all new window perf & building mounted signs. Window perf is easy, I've done it lots. This will be my first time for the mounted signs higher up. The signs themselves are simple... vinyl printed, mounted to DiBond (or similar). They are...
  18. My new sign installation lift...

That is great! I could use that exact thing for the job I just got... replacing all the window graphics and high up signs. I'll be renting a lift for this!
  19. Bannerups Failure

What's the temperature where they are hanging? If I had to guess, I'd say the adhesive in the tabs is "melting" due to excessive heat. I'd guess that if the sun were hot, the tabs would definitely slip if the adhesive softened up. That's what it looks like in a couple pics. A grommet supporting...
