  1. Using the term "die cut" vinyl lettering

I keep it simple and call it "custom cut vinyl", or simply "cut vinyl". Sure, we still need to explain it to some people. When they just don't get it, I send them a little video!
  2. Font Help... Appreciate it!

Can't quite figure this one out and spent far too much time looking on my own. Reaching out for any help please and thank you!

  4. Jesse Hill - J Hill Designs- needs your thoughts and prayers

Just reading about this today... what an awful thing to happen. Praying for a full, speedy recovery for Jesse. It's heart-warming to see this family come together like this in someone's time of need.
  5. Cutting down stickers

Depends on how they are printed. HP 360 printed... strips get trimmed on Royal Sovereign electric trimmer, then either trimmed by hand with a guillotine or put in our hydraulic guillotine cutter. Gerber Edge FX printed... ALWAYS get back-cut with back-slit for easy crack'n'peel feature.
  6. Completed jobs and mistakes.

I'm the owner here... I make mistakes because I'm human. Sometimes they're mistakes I've made, sometimes they're mistakes my customer has made and I neglected to catch it. BUT... 99.99% of the time I catch it BEFORE it goes out the door... and I fix it. AND, I LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES! Very rarely...
  7. New HP Latex printers L560 and L570

The 570 looks like a beautiful printer... definitely a lot of improvements over the 360. Perhaps in a few years when my 360 has served it's life, I'll look at a new one... but... I'll bet there are even better things coming from HP! I'm excited to see what I will purchase next! :Big Laugh

  9. Hp latex 360 printer

Love the L360. In my second year of running it. It replaced our older 25500. Colour quality has never been an issue, excellent matching, excellent sharpness, excellent detail! EASY TO LOAD... so what if I have to deal with inserting a "rod" through the roll LOL (first world problems!!). I may...
  10. Business Card face lift

I for one happen to like Jill's website! It's simple, clean, easy to navigate and oh, it has more than just one page! Can't wait to have my website critiqued too!
  11. Whats your favorite weeding tool?

Tweezers (important to find the RIGHT tweezer that feels good and allows for FAST weeding!!). Sometimes I use a dental pick. I buy them used quite cheap, and they are extremely sharp! The dental pick is great because it caters to left or right hand use!
  12. Adjusting Halftones in Gerber Omega to Reduce Graininess and Banding

You are the master Fred! Thanks for posting this... it will come in very handy for me, that I know for sure! :notworthy:
  13. ROLAND ECO-SOLVENT vs. HP LATEX - My personal experience owning both.

GREAT THREAD! And a great side-by-side comparison. I absolutely LOVE my Latex 360. Customers are always amazed at the quality it prints. With the new ink technology and the new drying process, I am able to print on many more medias than I could with the old L25500. They have come a long way in...
  14. HP latex 310 Print Quality? Grainy?

Those test prints are terrible. I've run many on my L360, and they look nothing like those. My guess is there is a problem with the media being incompatible with the latex inks OR there is a problem with the set of inks themselves. It almost looks like the ink is watered down... I am assuming...
  15. why do the "i"'s and the "l"'s look wrong in pdf files

This is a rendering bug with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. It only display it as a thicker stroke but it prints fine. If you open the same file on a Mac via the "Preview" application, the problem goes away. By turning OFF "Enhance thin lines" in Adobe Reader's preference, you can eliminate the display...

Any offers? I will go as low as $900US. Thank you.
  17. Sticking Vinyl to 040 Aluminum Painted

Big Squeegee works superb! Since making that video on their main page, I have purchased a laminator which handles large runs, but I still use the Big Squeegee for one-offs and smaller/shorter runs. It's quicker than unthreading the laminator! :thumb:

  19. What's the best heat transfer vinyl for T-Shirts?

I purchased it here in Canada at STAHLS (www.stahls.ca). I'm pretty sure they have a U.S. office also, but not sure about your neck of the woods. It's just called "Laser Alignment System".
  20. What's the best heat transfer vinyl for T-Shirts?

The white lines are actually red (just didn't show up in the picture too well!!). I use a laser alignment system for consistency shirt to shirt. You can see the laser alignment "tool" in one of the pics! Saved me a ton of time on that particular order for 100 shirts. :thumb:
