God I should really know this one but I'm getting nowhere.
  2. I need to rant

I drove my 82 Toyota pick-up over 450,000 miles without any major engine work ever. Do not ever try to sell a vehicle with that many miles no matter how pristine it may be, people are so damn suspicous and always want something for nothing.

  5. Source needed for a unique colored vinyl

Sharpline Converting & Universal Products carry special colors used in the RV & Marine indusrties. I was actually able to get a color from Universal Products that had not been on a color chart in over 20 years, after all dealers siad it was no longer available I called Universal Products and...
  6. Monomeric Laminate on Polymeric Vinyl ?? First newbie Error!

So you have an economy grade calendered laminate on a high performance calendered vinyl print on a permanent exterior sign. Call me crazy but I only use cast vinyls on long term exterior applications.

I did this once years ago on a Roland that was out of warranty. Dealt directly with Roland headquaters in Irvine, CA. After 3 failed attempts to fix the machine I was offered a new unit which still worls flawlessly today 11 years later.

  10. Vinyl Shrinking

3641 was what came to mind when I read your post, man that stuff really shrinks outdoors, they don't call it economy grade for nothing. 3651 is better, 3551 even better, 3751 even better yet, 3951 is best ... well I guess it's true, you get what you pay for. The one realistic purpose I have...
  11. Stripping old banners

Thought I was the only one who realized this.
  12. Finishing table protection

Mine has been in use for over twelve years without any problems. Like any other tool you simply need to apply a little common sense when using it (don't use a utility knife and bear down with all your might to cut through a substrate that is denser that the mat itself). Although most...

  14. Edge prints rubbing off?

What are these things constructed of, looks like a textured plastic. Maybe try a thick high bond vinyl such as convex. If you want them to be extremely durable (bullet proof) then you must use extremely durable products, both vinyl and laminate. This application probably requires materials...

  17. Black not dark enough

Default 37 & 40, I'm not really sure if settings in the RIP override the settings in the printer, some profiles (such as Oracal) do specify a higher heat setting. Tech that set up my printer said he liked to run everthing at 50 but I've relied on Roland's default settings without any problems.
  18. Black not dark enough

My Rich Black is C=75%, M=68%, Y-65%, K=100%. Don't recall where I stumbled apon it but it prints very balck on my SP-300V.
  19. pc 600 vinyl printing

Self Test Print is done through the printer only, no software or computer hook-up needed for this function. OP should be able to print from Illustrator after installing XP driver available from Roland's site. I recall OP stating that his computer system came with Windows 7 and he had it...
