  1. Need Help Probably a stupid question.....

Mrs. Gray, still remember her, told us that "no question is stupid if you do not know the answer"! The oven has to get up to 350-400 degrees for powder coating. Take a small piece (12"x12") and put it in a kitchen oven at that temp and see if it bows or delaminates.
  2. Tochscreen worth it for designing?

They have Affinity Designer now for the IPad. Looks interesting.
  3. Need Help 1" pvc question

If your making the french cleats out of pvc you can use PVC cement that you can purchase at homedepot with some countersunk screws that are the right size so as not to go through to face. And yes, 1" thick PVC is heavy, unless it is a small sign.

I think Stormy Danials might help.
  8. WHO NEEDS TO PONY UP DAMAGE COST ???

In my screen printing days, I would never trust sheets of material lay flat together and always, as stated, stand them on end. You're the person who sold the signs to the customer, they stuck together, it's your fault and you have to own up to it. It's a lesson to learn, we all have gone through...
  9. Discussion I would just like to know....................................

Well, some sign people think some fonts look good and I think they look ugly. As far as "tact", I was told a long time ago to never tell someone their sign looks ugly. I would never tell anyone they were ugly and it goes for signs and fonts also.
  10. What kind of PC do you get for large format files .tiffs and such

Y'all sound like your comparing your ED supplements to having a "bigger and stronger" problem solved. My MacBook Pro has never failed me on large files or the older laptop I run my RIP with. Was thinking of getting a new one but will wait for newer upgrades on their processors.
  11. Discussion I would just like to know....................................

Telling someone they have an ugly font in their logo is like telling them their spouse or child is ugly. Better to keep it to yourself. The font may have a quality you do not see like they do. Now if you are a plastic surgeon and someone comes in with an ugly nose, you fix it.

  15. Are you noticing vendors going direct?

Au contraire, I buy parts for my AC all the time, either Amazon or a local dealer in parts. Last week bought a round capacitor for $13. To call someone up and install that part is about $200. You just have to know what you need to replace. Everything is for sale!
  16. New & needing help

I think he said family-owned grocery store. He mentioned doing the signs for that business. I say, good luck in your endeavors and maybe have a large sign shop for the area and make some decent money. As far as printers, you live in Cajun country, Chevy, Ford or Dodge? Whatever pulls that...
  17. Are you noticing vendors going direct?

This was discussed long ago with Gemini and Fellers selling to the general public. Don't think it had anything to do about sign people being horrible. It's just businesses trying to make more money. VistaPrint are pushing selling banners and signs along with 4Over, Stouse and others all the...
