  1. Opinion Epson Surecolor 40600 vs Roland TrueVis SG

I mean the roland pakage with the RF 640 and the GR 540 would be about $21k, compared to approx $15k for the Epson and SummaCut D140 and Onyx Thrive. I mean that's a huge difference especially for me as I'm a one man operation just getting going. Roland sales guy said he could probably match...
  2. Opinion Epson Surecolor 40600 vs Roland TrueVis SG

Now the Roland guy is trying to get me to get a RF-640 and a Roland cutter but I definitely don't think they will even be close to matching the price I'm getting the Epson and Summa for.
  3. Opinion Epson Surecolor 40600 vs Roland TrueVis SG

And being accurate is exactly what I want. I do primarily die cut stickers and labels. If I was doing wraps and a little cut stuff I think the all-in-one would be suitable. I know Epson is, no questions asked, a reliable printer. In my years of offset that's been the standard in the shops I've...
  4. Opinion Epson Surecolor 40600 vs Roland TrueVis SG

Oh well doing a separate print and cut system. Specifically and Epson and Summa cutter.
  5. Opinion Epson Surecolor 40600 vs Roland TrueVis SG

Yeah I'm getting a quote on the S40600 and a Summa D140 and Summa S Class 2 D140. I'm super small so I can't afford the S Class 2 T model but maybe the next level down, which I'm sure performs much better than what I'm used to in an all in one system and it would increase productivity as well.
  6. Opinion Epson Surecolor 40600 vs Roland TrueVis SG

Has anyone heard or seen the new TrueVis SG2 in action? I'm very close to getting a new machine...I was about to pull the trigger on one but my issue is with the cutting. I do a lot of smaller cut stickers and labels and I love doing full cut outs. So with that in mind I'm really hesitating on...
  7. Encoder strip or sensor?

I'm actually glad you mentioned that, as I was thinking the sensor might be the issue. After digging into it I noticed that the encoder strip was touching the rear half of the sensor. I was able to loosen the stripped screw a bit and centered it over the strip and channel. Did the encoder setup...
  8. Encoder strip or sensor?

My SP-540V has really been giving me a hell of a time. I had encoder strip problems a few weeks ago and I bought a new strip, installed it and everything was fine. Now a few weeks later, I started a print the it started fine and then went to a blurry mess. I cleaned the encoder a couple times...
  9. Sheet Set Error - Set Again

Nope. You need at least all 4 marks and you can do a manual alignment for the cut.
  10. Opinion Epson Surecolor 40600 vs Roland TrueVis SG

I just saw they released the SG2. And one big improvement is ink usage in cleaning cycles. Maybe they have made improvements. Same heads though but new ink. Time will tell I guess.
  11. Opinion Epson Surecolor 40600 vs Roland TrueVis SG

I'm looking into upgrading in the next 6months and I'm not sure which direction to go in. My space is rather limited but I could fit the Epson 40600 and a cutter I can move around easily. It would be tighter but doable. So i've been searching a reading reviews on the SG, which most are from...
  12. SP-540V Network card problem?

All fixed. Had a tech come and check it out and I actually don't think he really did anything different than I did. Seems like my VPN might have had something to do with it. He wasn't even really sure about it. Thanks for all the help guys!
  13. SP-540V Network card problem?

Didn't pick up anything other than my PC that i'm on and my wifi adapter ip. Nothing for the machine.
  14. SP-540V Network card problem?

Unfortunately my machine doesn't even show up to ping. I tried the last known ip I was using and there is nothing at all.
  15. SP-540V Network card problem?

I've reseated the card and that didn't work. I did a factory defaults and that didn't work either. Looks like I'm screwed on this one.
  16. SP-540V Network card problem?

I greatly appreciate any ideas on this. See the card has 3 lights 2 green and one orange in the middle of those greens. I know the far right is communication between that card and pc and the other is between the card and the machine's main board. So my guess right now is either the network...
  17. SP-540V Network card problem?

An electrical surge had caused the original network card to go bad. I bought a new one, installed and worked fine. I got a 110 error mid print, which is the encoder error, so I powered off the machine and when it came up I noticed one of the network card lights was flashing, usually both are...
  18. SP-540V Network card problem?

So i just replaced the network card in my machine a few weeks ago and it's been running fine in that respect but today I just got an encoder error. Turned the machine off and when it came back up it says it's not connected in Versaworks. The lights on the network card in respect to the machine...

Are you trying to connect directly or through a switch?
  20. Blurred print and cut marks - SP-540V

So I had remembered that I got a encoder strip not long ago and when I installed it found that it was slightly longer (approx .25") than the stock one that was in before. I think t was just not positioned quite right due to the fact I had to try and make it fit. Not sure why it's slightly...
