* If by "Mill Finish" you mean bare, you might want to try a prefinished aluminum for a stronger adhesion.

To assure proper alignment reinserting media after lamination I simply do a sheet cut before the print, this way you can just align the leading edge of the media to the groove/edge of the heater.

All I use anymore is the X-acto knife, the back side of the blade works very quickly & efficently as a weeding tool.
