We do all our tweaking in PS before sending to Perfect Resize. It works well for the things we do. We also resize in one shot. Every time a file is manipulated there is more of a chance to lose information/quality. Proved it time and again in one of my college courses.
Nope. We set it about a sixteenth inch above and don't let it touch as a rule. The couple times they did touch didn't seem to cause issues. I just don't like it touching because of all the other chemicals in it.
Soooo Bob how many of these do you do a day at $83? Saying you will do them for that price all day and actually making a living on them are worlds apart, no?
BTW Too many folks don't give a rats rump about quality. Their rally cry: "How cheap can I get this done".
Ahhhh sooo. I see said the blind man. Never thought about a "selection" being used to define a contour like that. Thank you very much for taking the time to post pics and explanation.
I have an RS so I speak from experience. You must have an ABSOLUTELY square clean edge to start, period. By square I mean your lead edge must be 90 degrees to either the right or left side. The lead edge must also be dead flat, period.

I hang fabric softener sheets across the back of my printer. They need to be almost touching the vinyl. There are more elegant solutions but I'm cheap and they're always in stock. Plus we rarely have static issues. We closely monitor temperature and more importantly humidity.
You never...
You may be able to work around it by detecting marks manually. You would print your marks then manually set each base point on the Roland. Roland has a multiple base point setting for doing this although we have never used it. I'm not explaining it very well.
We had tried setting up an old...
Here is what I know about folks in my area. They will go to Walmart or Woodmans grocery store before they will pay what I need to get. At this point when they call for that service I automatically tell them where to get it done. I can't compete.
At least they appreciate my honesty and will...
Latex. I talked to BigFish about this very same thing. He ran the numbers for me and latex came out on top. I run a Roland and it is expensive to run posters besides having to wait for them to dry. We did a batch of 62 posters and had to hang them on a makeshift clothesline in the shop. No fun.
