  1. Looking for specific Ford Raptor Graphics

If they are no longer produced I wonder the copyright deal would be? If there is no legal reason you can't do it go ahead and recreate the graphic. You can make some solid coin.
  2. Need a New Laminator

We have the 65" RS. Been real happy with it. With my Rube Goldberg infeed we've done 60' with 1/4" drift. When I got my laminator the rep said: "It is an art, not science". How true. It took me a long time to learn the tricks and I'm still learning. Some folks here are very happy with...
  3. Air in Lines Question

If you have trouble pulling ink with a syringe the cap top is going bad. Or in the case of 3rd party inks your lines may be clogging.(first hand experience, never again)
  4. Engineer's scale (ruler)

Find a place that does laser engraving. If it is a stainless rule they will use a spray that turns black when hit with the laser. Either way laser markings will never come off.
  5. I know there's no perfect printer, but help me get close...

Here is my advice and it will serve you well. Buy your printer from the shop closest to you that has qualified techs, period. I can't stress that enough. I don't give a rats rump who makes it or what people claim. They all break, and usually at the worst possible moment. I learned a $15,000...
  6. What apps do you use?

My wife recently set up an intranet through Google. Now all the jobs either one of us is working on get categorized and have timelines set. Instant viewing of PDF's is cool too. We also use it to send print ready jobs to our RIP server. Since it is cloud based it can be updated anywhere...
  7. So, I forgot to introduce myself

    :Welcome: from Wisconsin
  8. Ranting on Foam By Design

    Ummm...what?!
  9. How to get a c-45 license

It is hard to judge inflection or intent when posting. Many times the people that have been around the block once or twice post their experiences they come across as being an a**hole. We try to prevent disasters we've experienced by posting the ugly part of the sign game. Things that a noobs...
  10. Anyone know of a better alternative to Orajet 3640?

That's where we have an advantage. All the prints we do have some sort of frame or holder. You'll never see the edges. Just remembered something.(brain fade) Print on Oracal 651. No shrinky after cutty. Learned that from a client no less.(won't bore you with the details of this revelation)...
  11. Anyone know of a better alternative to Orajet 3640?

Odd. We are in love with the 3640/210 combo. We've been doing some color critical interior work(posters, wall art) and actually look forward to using it. Wife even looks forward to laminating with 210 and she absolutely hates the laminator.
  12. Verscamm media tracking off to left

    qft!
  13. CJ (SC) 500... cuts perfect, except when registration used

Well now you know it isn't the crop mark sensor. It may be your sensor strip, but that generally manifests itself as poor print quality before ruining contour cuts. Maybe try cleaning the strip with a microfiber cloth dampened with IPA. Driver board or software glitch would be the other...
  14. Anyone know of a better alternative to Orajet 3640?

Nature of the beast. Calendared wants to return to its original shape. We've run 3M, KAPCO, Oracal, Shine-Rite etc...horse a piece.
  15. shipping a 2nd hand printer and paying for it, do's and don'ts

How far are you shipping? I've shipped a printer to Canada and built a "survival box" in my shop. I used to work freight/shipping at my old job and have seen it all. My boxes are built with that in mind. The other place you could use is Navis for packing/shipping. They do a real slick foam...
  16. Overspray even after antistatic cord

You never mentioned what the humidity was in your shop. Anything under 50% will cause problems.(at least for us it does) Check for fuzz on heads. Or it could just a lot of static on that roll of media.
  17. Anyone else just totally slammed right now?

If we get an average percentage of our bids we'll be very busy.
  18. Verscamm media tracking off to left

Yeah what he said. The other thing I would add is to never trust the sheet cut end if you haven't been centering the media. Media will drift no matter what and you end up "accumulating" that error. Sheet cut makes a straight line, but is it 90 degrees to the side? Wife was running a massive...
  19. CJ (SC) 500... cuts perfect, except when registration used

Maybe do a manual registration(?) S'posed to be a menu setting for multiple base points where you use the small angle shaped marks and tip of the knife to check location. I've only read about it and haven't needed to use it. If it is still off then at least you'll know it's not the sensor eye.
  20. Shirt Printing on CET

Too cool. I figured it could be done, you proved it. Didn't you post some time ago about printing on everything that would fit under the heads of your flatbed? Things like doormats, carpet, tiles, old barn boards...?
